Aweber Mailing Lists Question

So it looks like Aweber is the way to go for mailing lists. I'm a bit confused about something, however. Can you run multiple mailing lists, one for each product/site, etc on a single account? I'm assuming so, but wanted to clarify before taking the plunge. (Yeah, I know. $1 for the first month. Some plunge lol).

Bottom line, per a suggestion from Bryan Zimmerman I'm working on my business plan, outline, etc. Trying to get it all sorted on paper so I'll have a roadmap, so to speak.

Yes - you can run multiple lists and sites via one
AWeber account if you want to.

    Good luck.

Thanks Shaun. That's what I love about WF. Usually quick, straight and to-the-point answers

Aweber will also allow you to do a broadcast email to 1,several, or all your accounts at the same time. It makes corresponding to your subscribers so much easier.

Aweber is a great one to use....fairly simple and effective

That's what I keep hearing/reading. I also heard about mailchimp, and of course free has a certain intrigue for me. However, I hear mailchimp has some drawbacks, namely no affiliate marketing.

And since it looks like Aweber will allow me up to 2,500 subscribers for $29 a month (and please correct me if I've read that wrong), and since I can do the first month for a buck, it sounds like a better option than mailchimp.

It has some other drawbacks, too. You made a good decision.

        Good luck!

I 'took the plunge' the other day - so, so, so glad I did it.

It's awesome, surpassed my expectations (whatever they were anyway).

Very easy to use, very shallow learning curve, extremely functional, easy to make your opt in form look nice etc etc

I use aweber too ... it is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

But if you want to save your $19 dollars (for the next month) while learning AutoResponders,
    there's also;

www.GetResponse.com (Free for first 100 subs)
www.MailChimp.com (Free for first 2,000 subs)

just some other (free) options for you if you weren't already aware
or didn't want to go a paid solution (for now).

all A/R providers have their pros & cons ...
all depends on you & your business i guess.

    all the best buddy,

I knew about mailchimp, not GetResponse. I have read that mailchimp has a strict no-affiliate policy, and since I'm new and don't have my own product as of yet, affiliate will have to be my starting point.

Even if I did have my own product, knowing that mailchimp has some major disadvantages, I see no point in starting with them just to save $20 then have to switch later

Actually, I'd say it's more of a vague affiliate policy, because when I've asked them to clarify what they mean by "affiliate marketing", I've been told there's no issue with promoting affiliate products in a newsletter sent by them. Considering they have an affiliate program of their own it seems kind of silly that they wouldn't allow that to be promoted via their service - but by all means ask them about the policy and see what they say.

I'd love to use Aweber and did use them for a few years, but after their systems were compromised twice in a year, I need someone that takes their security a little more seriously.

        Steve

P.S. Just about all the good services I know about are listed in this sitepoint article and I'd encourage anyone looking for a service provider to try a few of them out to see which they like best.

          Me too.

That's why I'm staying with Aweber.

They'll take their security "a little more seriously": they wouldn't let that happen three times, right?

It's like staying with a bank who have had a real screw-up over your account: they're going to take extra care in future, aren't they?

          Maybe.

And then there's also the point that the fact that Aweber has been hacked a couple of times may be because that's what hackers decided to do rather than because of anything Aweber failed to do: you could go to GetResponse and find that exactly the same thing happens there, also through no great fault of their own, just because the same hackers target that one instead, next time.

Not an easy decision at all.

You could also try iContact. Free for first 60 days. I think it gives you unlimited emails and a maximum of 250 subscribers.

Haven't heard of iContact either. Sounds like an Apple product lol. I will look into it, though. Thanks.

I have used Verticle Response. There you pay as you do. No minumum monthly charge.

Yes, by the way, I AM in the Witness Protection Program. I could tell you who I am but then I would have to kill you.

You really can't go wrong with Aweber. Early on I took I-Contact, Get Response, and one other that I can't remember the name of for a test drive. I liked Aweber hands down.
If you use Host Monster hosting, they have a built in auto responder. Don't know about the deliverability rate but I know Aweber has one of the highest deliver rates and this was important to me because I had seen lower deliver rates with other responders.

    Hi Drake

You've made the decision to go with aweber, and it's a great service.

Stop procrastinating about your decision and move onto stage 2 of your roadmap.

Get the opt-in forms online and then start driving traffic and getting enough leads to make sure you've made at least $29 to cover next month's cost.

Switching from autoresponder to autoresponder isn't going to drive your business forward just even more sideways.

Nope, not procrastinating lol. I'm getting it all worked out, I've decided who I'm going to pay and what for (hostgator, aweber, e-junkie and war room yay lol). As I'm new I don't have cash rolling in to just do it, so has to wait until payday (which is tuesday).

Working on a product, getting it all sorted in my head so I'm headed in the right direction I think lol.

      But thanks for the encouragement

A broadcast message is the message you send the same day to your subscribers. It’s not a follow-up message. You can prepare a series of follow up messages and they will be automatically sent to your subscribers after an interval – let’s say, after 5 days. You can prepare your series of messages, or you can send broadcast messages to all your subscribers the same day.

Aweber is expensive comparing to other services online, however it is old, and respected. Your readers will fill safe knowing that you belong to Aweber.

Building trust online is one of the most important factors if you want to sell your products. So, it’s a good idea to use the known Aweber, which also gives you the best email marketing alternatives.

You've had your questions answered already, but here's one neat feature of having multiple lists on Aweber.

Firstly, someone signs up to your newsletter list. Later on they buy a product and sign up to your product A list. When you send a broadcast email out to your subscribers, Aweber will make sure it doesn't send it out to duplicate email addresses, so that person only gets one email. Of course if you send out different emails or follow ups to the various lists they'll still get those.

Whilst Aweber has it's faults, I've found them great to work with and always received prompt replies to my support queries.
