My friend ripped by 3 programmers in 3 different occasions
My friend whom I mentored for few months finally tried to set-up his own authority site and ordered a custom wp design and custom plugin from scriptlance. He did not informed me about this plan and he went ahead without my suggestion. The first order was posted last January 2nd, he got nothing after paying 30% in advance. The programmer said he got emergency and can't deliver the project in full. He did 30% of the job. My friend again called on another programmer to complete the project, another guy did 20% after he paid $20 dollars advance and left. My friend again tried another guy whom he paid for $30. The guy completed the project and installed the software but it didn't work. The last programmer left and not answering emails...
That's the time my friend called my attention and set aside his pride. He is not a warrior. He paid around $90 without getting anything worth. All 3 people came from the same group and the same country (I will not mention) and my friend's impression to this group of people was really bad. I asked him to forward to me his project so that I can take a look, then forwarded it to my longtime programming partner in Romania. That's when the project was completed.
What I am trying to emphasize here is that, even though you have money, you can get ripped off if you have lack of knowledge and put your pride above you. He could have avoided getting ripped-off if he informed me beforehand but I did not blame him for such terrible mistake... only thing I told him was to avoid this group of people as I had bad experience with them before too......
