How To Test & Measure Paper Ads

HI

Im about to setup a campaign as an affiliate for a "recession proof" product and was thinking of advertising it in my cities major newspaper considering most people will be effected i want to reach them all, not just net junkies.

Because i will be using my own domain which i plan to 'point' back to the merchants site, im not sure as to how i can track and measure my ads...?

Im seriously stumped on this one. The only thing i can think of so far is to start the ad for a week then stop it the following week and watch what happens to my direct hits

Any suggestions would be RAD

If you watch the URLs flashing by on TV, more and more of them have tracking codes on them. You'll see www.ProductName.com/tv, for example. Enter that in your browser, and you get redirected to the home page (or wherever they want you to land).

Just set up a subfolder on your domain, name it after your tracking word, and put your redirect code on the index page you put in that folder. That way, your stats program picks up the hit.

Another option is to download a copy of ProLinkz and use that:

About | ProLinkz.com (Free, no aff.)

Since you're using a non-clickable link in your ad, try to make your tracking code a short, memorable real word.
