Complete newbie question..

Hi, Im new here, I had to quit my job to take care of a very sick child. SO, I have some time on my hands.. I've been reading a lot of threads, and pretty much in information overload. I'll keep the question simple, and ask for some basic information.

I understand that there are a few avenues to make some money online, but I think I'm starting to clash them all together..

1) Basic Adsense content.. I read a post (which I can no longer find), about someone that created 40 websites with 2 artilces, and just sent them out there.. I'm assuming that is 40 different web sites created. Are those web sites linked in any way, or is it just information articles pushed out with hopes people click on the adsence?

2) Article writting. I'm assuming you write these articles and try yo add a lick back to your single primary web page. There I guess you try to sell or ad an opt in pop up for list building?

3) Blogger/Wordpress.. Is it okay to write the articles from here, and have a primary Blogger/Wordpress site to flush them back to?

4) Hosting. Here is where im even more lost.. Sites like Godaddy offer "website tonight". It provides you a template for each domain name. If you sent out say 100 different articles using wordpress/blogger, do you need a godaddy type host, and if so, is it better to just buy the normal hosting plan? And does that come with a template, or it just holds the blog accounts.. Agaim, 100 articles, would I need 100 "website tonights".

Thnak you verymuch, ANY infor to the above would be great

Denise

Well before you even think about getting started, you need to decide on a few things concerning online marketing.

How do you want to make your money? In other words, what business type are you going to use? Are you going to Sell information? Sell physical products? Make money through advertising? (sell advertising space) You can't even begin to answer the questions you asked until you have that nailed down.

Second, what kind of marketing model are you going to use? In your original post you mention article writing. What is the purpose of writing articles? Is it to build a list of subscribers or to send traffic directly to a sales page? You need to get this figured out too, and I'm just scratching the surface. You need to put together some kind of marketing plan.

After you figure these two things out, you then need to find a hungry market. You need to find people who have a problem you can solve, and have something to offer that solves it. People will pay you to solve their problems. Again you can either do this by selling information, physical products, selling advertising space on your website etc.

One of the best ways to find a market is to think about what you like to do. What are you passionate about? What do you know about? What do you know that can help solve a problem someone has? Solving peoples problems and giving them what they want is what will make you money.

I have simplified this a lot, but it should get you thinking about what you really need to do and get you going in the right direction. Another thing you should do is take the time to educate yourself here. There is a wealth of free information that can really teach you how to make money online. Hope this has helped.

First off I must respectively disagree with NicheExposed on GoDaddy Hosting. I have used them for 5 years myself and never had an issue, it's super cheap, and I've never seen my sites go down and their customer service is pretty spot on.

Getting back to your post, I agree with NE that you need to calm down a bit. This isn't a snap your fingers and get money business even if you know what you're doing. I completely get your information overload, there's a ton to take in, I've been there.

Yes you've got to figure out your plan, choose a niche to market on, register a URL relevant to that niche, install WordPress on your site, do some keyword research to find some keywords to use, and start writing posts on them and promoting those posts/articles. Of course you've got to figure out if you want to build a mailing list on your site, just sell a product as soon as people get there, etc.

I hope the child you're caring for sees an improvement before too long.

    Hi Denise,
There very best of luck to you.
Regarding hosting, I've used godaddy but have recently switched my hosting over the company I'm taking my Internet Marketing training with.
The reason I'm doing that is that they allow unlimited sites at no additional charge. So quickly, it becomes much more affordable than godaddy, if one is planning more than a few sites.

Also beware godaddy has tons of options when you register a site. Which will really add up. I do my registraion with them, but I say no thanks to all the options.

As for creation of blolgs, I'm a big fan of installing wordpress on my sites and using it.

I'm not a pro at this however, I only started thes up in the last few weeks so virtually no traction at this point.

    Again, best wishes.

    Patrick
