Why the delay between my voice and picture in Video

Hi Troopers

Not sure what I'm doing wrong but if I upload a video from my camcorder, I use Camstasia and use the "record camera" option. I play the video on the cam and camtasia captures it without any probs via the usb connection. However, when I've done the "produce video as" bit, normally using avi or flv or whatever, there seems to be quite a delay between my speech and the picture.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong??
