Not going to be a long post, just something for thought/discussion.

Know the difference between being busy and being productive.

One will keep you tired. The other will make you money.

I can spend 8 hours straightening/cleaning/polishing my desk. Was I busy? Yep. Tired? Probably.

But it wasn't really "productive." It didn't help me make money.

But, at the end of the day, I'll (wrongly) feel like I "worked."

On the other hand, I can spend those same 8 hours and make a product or build a site.

THAT can help me make money.

What are some things that keep you busy, but not necessarily productive?

(My main one is reading forums. :p ))

Yes! Forum reading definitely! Addictive. BUT sometimes I come across a great post that can help productivity. So I feel justified to keep coming back. :-)

This useto be a problem for me as well, but not on purpose but because I was trapped in a maze - I simply didn't know where to go for the longest time. Finally after some direction from sticking around the forums here, I can actually be productive now.

I think it's easy to get off track. It's always good to get guidance and direction.

Oh my gosh! I can give you a list of hundreds! LOL. I think when you work online, it makes it hard to focus on the project at hand - social media, forums, blogs, WSO's, emails, news, researching, social bookmarking, etc. SOme days are more productive than others for sure. Often times, you have to just turn off the Internet and work OFFLINE. Sometimes (not as often as I should), when I write I will write offline and then cut and paste. It can be too distracting when you try to work directly in your blog or article site.

    Focus!
