Don't get hacked. Protect your email

A few days ago someone started a thread about how their yahoo mail account was hacked and then they found out they had been signed up to a $125 per month VPS account and a few contacts were emailed.

This is obviously very very bad. I know that I have a cornucopia of personal information in my email account. (common sense tip of the day: use a unique password for your email account. I re-use a lot of passwords, but not for my email. Completely unique.). My gmail account is my lifeline and is very precious to me.

Well, google has a 2 step verification. You can use this with your phone. More details are here:

They've had this for their google apps service for a few months, but now it is being rolled out for all google accounts. Yep, it's another step in the process of signing in, but is it worth it? Ask the guy that started that thread that I mentioned (I forgot the title of it or I'd link to it).

Note: This is being rolled out over the next few days, so it may not be available to you just yet.
