If you have to re-start Internet Marketing

If you decide to start afresh with Internet Marketing, assuming that you have all the knowledge which you have acquired till now, where would you start from and why?

I would start with choosing a niche and writing an eBook. Because I believe I have the knowledge to drive traffic to that site and sell good number of eBooks every week.

Get a hostgator account sooner, buy some domains sooner and do what I'm doing now.

      • Build a blog in a new niche (to prevent boredom) and guest post like mad for the top blogs in your niche.

I currently am doing this, what a funny coincidence you creating this thread now, and I have been lucky enough to be featured on problogger.net one month into my blogging endeavors.

I would recommend that bloggers send out one guest post per week to maintain a steady flow of brand new readers.

I also use ezine articles to promote the blog, simply copying and slightly modifying for SEO before publishing.

Now if I was more confident I would simply buy a blogger, article spinner and ebook creator. But I find that people buy 'me' so to speak, so I like to build a presence in the community as I build it from the ground up.

Some people would laugh at me for working so hard/much but I like it

So to answer your question, that's what I would do (am doing) if I were to re-start internet marketing.

    Simple...

Make 10 premium products, take out $10,000.00 in the bank, go to every major IM conference around the country. Form every JV I possibly can, get "in" with the guys, and say hello $$$...

      Hi Steve,

So if you had to restart all over again, you'd build a blog?

What would you do then?

        Hi

I would learn SEO and copywriting. In my opinion they are two crucial skills to have in internet marketing.

        Thanks

If I knew then what I know now, I would have figured out what I wanted to do and settled in doing it 200% without distraction A LOT sooner!

But it is a process. Fumbling around is part of the learning process, as long as you take what you've learned and turn a new leaf of applying it and stop jumping from shiny object to shiny object.

Create an information product yourself, and use all the usual methods to drive traffic to the site where you're selling it. It works if you perservere.

You should have done enough market research to know what people want. Remember that when they arrive at your site, they really want to buy, you just must give them enough good reasons to do it.

1- I would find my audience and understand everything they want to buy, and why.
2- I would then find affiliate products for this audience.
3- I would promote them using free methods like Squidoo lenses, Hub pages, articles, etc.
4- After seeing that I'm selling them, I would create a paid Wordpress blog and create a similar product for the same customers, or find more affiliate products for them.

I did everything on the contrary. First I created my products, my websites and blogs. Only later I cared about using also affiliate marketing. This route was too complicated and expensive.

This is why today I tell everyone to begin learning and making money at the same time without spending any money, through free methods. Only after understanding very well what to sell and how, should everyone build their own business, and create their products, websites, blogs, etc.
