Google Affiliate Network

Has anyone here had experience with the Google Affiliate Network?

I just found out about it now (probably a little late :p), but I was wondering if anyone had any success with this program.

Here is the link - Affiliate Network - Google

I sell a few thinks thru then, almost entirely from Cabelas on an outdoor site.
I find there interface to be slow and kludgy (then again, so is commission junctions) but they are pretty good.

The #1 downside in my mind is payment is made thru AdSense and Google has a reputation for disabling accounts for no reason.

It's the same as all affilate networks. But, they have some big name brands.

This use to be called Performics affilaite networks. I think what happened is Google bought Performics. Any I have been with Performics now Google Networks for several years and they always pay on time.

I'm a member but keep forgetting about it.

They have a ton of big names in there. I just hate that it's "Google". Frankly, I have no idea if they owe me any money right now or not.

    Hi everyone...
I joined Google's affiliate network last spring on a whim, and only joined one advertiser. I didn't think too much about it - I just put their banner on a couple of pages on one of my related sites and forgot about it.

A couple of months later, when I looked at my Adsense account, I was surprised to see a $25 jump in earnings (I only made about $300 in Adsense last year - so seeing a $25 addition caught my attention).

When I looked closer, it was income from that one single affiliate program - which I found very interesting!

What I find even more interesting is that I didn't take the hint to put more offers out there on my sites! But, this thread just spurred me to look again at the program.

So, just before posting this reply, I logged into my Google account, and went to the affiliate program, and lo and behold, they had a new Beta tab labeled "Opportunities" that were based on my website - Everything is now totally different from what the program looked like when I joined it last year.

As a quick example, they are now showing me what they are calling "High Potential" advertisers that are even offering a product feed for me to put in my site. They DID say that these advertisers are suggested IF they have enough information about your site.

But, even if they DON'T yet have enough info on your site, they say that "you will be prompted to fill out a quick questionnaire," and that they will offer suggestions.

Sorry to go on so long - but I am spurred to look more deeply and more seriously about what they are offering, especially given my own surprise at actually earning a couple of bucks from the program.

... (Just took another quick break from this post, and went back to my account)...

Ok, I just clicked on my "Payments" tab - and it is showing nearly $20 more in my earnings than I thought was in there. Guess where that $20 is coming from? Yup... that same little affiliate program.

What I do NOT know is why the earnings don't show up in my main Adsense overview - but this was a pleasant surprise.

Again, I apologise for the length of this post, but I just got psyched and had to share what I found in my own account.

I guess that means that I DO recommend giving it a go. Good luck with it!

Ok... One MORE tiny thing - it was very easy for me to figure out how to add the links to my website. And I know that if I can do it, anyone can.

You got that right! LOL... Thanks Roy!

My husband - who, BTW is my greatest supporter in my ventures - has asked me during our "work debriefing sessions" where we account for our successes or lack of progress on any given day: "Ok, Hon... Where do you stand on getting additional affiliate links on xyz site?"

I guess that I'll have some progress to report tonight.

I cannot believe I have sat on this as long as I have. Shame on me.

That's because they are in a different part of Google. (Although I wish they DID have a link to the affiliate program in Adsense.)

You can use the link that Mike used in the beginning of this thread (Affiliate Network - Google) and then sign in using your Google sign in information.

Hopefully that does it for you... Good luck!
