Is it good or bad? Like does the search engines ( i.e google mainly ) treat you anymore differently?

Does it reduce bandwith usage I have one site that I am have had to increase my bandwidth 3 times this month as traffic is building on it fairly fast. I wonder if this will help?

Yes, it does reduce bandwidth usage. And it can help in the eyes of Big G, as it makes your site load a bit faster. I don't know that it really makes that much of a difference from a SERP standpoint, though.

I actually like this one better - WordPress Optimization | W3 Total Cache | W3 EDGE | Boston, MA

I've used it on several wordpress sites over the last couple weeks. It does load my sites faster which was my objective. Not sure about benefits of SEO rankings.

      Well read this

Warning When Using WP Super Cache

It says it creates duplicate pages and effects SEO. I am very leary to use something which creates a static duplicate and serves it up

Since the warning post doesn't say how the duplicate content is created its a pointless post, ie no proof. Also the post is over a year old.

But like caseycase I also use W3 Total Cache. Since the guys behind them work with Joast De Walk I doubt you'll find any SEO problems with it.

      lol ok.

how does it create a duplicate? simple ...it has to!

the dynamic php pages still have to be there and still be accessed at yoursite.com/?page_id=id here

      and google can fine them.

not to mention you cannot have anything dynamic on your site.

there are pros and cons, but in my personal opinion/experience the cons are the heavyweight.

more examples ...since that one "doesn't count lol"

      and hundreds more.

all cashe plugins create duplicates that i know of.

Well essentially dynamic works differently to static. Dynamic is pulling the content from the database and displaying as the page is url is called vs static is an actual page that exists with content in it.

Im just trying to be cautious here and not pick a cache plugin that will cause issues down the road

no matter what they content will still be in the database, and be able to be accessed dynamically. in essence creating a duplicate.

you could use a htaccess file to redirect all the dynamic pages to the static counterparts , vut it would be a pain in the .......

Not in a search engine perspective which was what I mean't obviously.
the dynamic php pages still have to be there and still be accessed at yoursite.com/?page_id=id here
Yes but that does not mean they are served using that. I can't access any pages using page_id and index.php without being redirect to the permalink and I use SuperCache and W3 Total Cache. And no I'm not logged in while testing it.
        and google can fine them.
Perhaps but it will too be redirect with a 301 to the permalink. Google can't find anything that there ain't a link to.
not to mention you cannot have anything dynamic on your site.
Dynamic in what way? JavaScript or PHP? You can have it setup to rebuild on comments.
there are pros and cons, but in my personal opinion/experience the cons are the heavyweight.
If you need caching theres no problem using it.
They are all old references but better than the first link. And like Daniel wrote in his post. Could be server settings acting up.

I use it and it's great. Reduces server load which my hosting company likes, speeds up loading time of my sites, which I and Google likes.

I was required to install it on a high traffic blog after the host pulled it offline for using too many resources. Haven't had a problem since installing it. With regard to SEO there is no difference the search engines view the same page, and it may even help as suggested above because it increases page load time.
