choosing a keyword?? newbie

can anyone tell me,, can i register a product name like 'raleigh250.com'
as in that is the make and product number of the bikr, and then put amazon or ebay links on the site??? or is this brand domain name not a good idea??

      You need to be really careful of Trademark Violation! Some brands won't allow you to use their name in URL's and will respectfully ask you to hand over the domain! You need to check it with them first.
      If someone clicks through to Amazon from your link, anything they then buy will be credited to you - not just the product you are advertising.

      I don't know much about ebay, but I know that amazon pays you commission on anything they buy. I think ebay does as well. I know ebay give you extra if they are a new member that signs up.

      Yes you should be very careful about trademarks and you are better off using an actual keyword than the product model like this.

      I run a Fitness Blog but I have sold Kindles and Wii's through Amazon in the past before...its great!

    I've seen a lot of people mention that big companies get pretty upset when you use their products or company name in your domain name. On the other hand, I registered tons of domains with exact product and company names in them when I first started, and have yet to get into it with the companies.

    It really depends on the company - if they decide to come after you for the domain, you're going to lose, but some companies either don't watch or don't care.
