Articlesbase; Can I "Quote" Someone Else's Work?

5 replies
Hello warriors,

Happy Valentines day to you!

I'm writing a product review about an affiliate product(very common), but
I want to "quote" the product creator's words about the purpose of
his product which is all of about 2 sentences...

Question;

Is this allowed?
and if it is, to what extent would I need to reference the source?

Is just saying "joe blow stated in his product literature"
and then perhaps italicizing the passage OK?

any help would be appreciated! (it did not seem to be addressed in their FAQs)

Thank you warrior matties!
Dano~

    Happy Valentine's Day to You too.
    Did you check to see if the creator has already written a recommended
    review? Usually they do, so there would be no problem then.

    It is ok to site sources as long as you give credit to where the source came from. If you cite the source and take credit for it yourself, that is called plagiarism and copyright infringement. If you are still in doubt, then get ahold of who wrote the article and ask them if you can site their sentence.
