Outsourcing Articles Question

Hello. Um, I've never used free lancer and wanted to outsource my time by getting a free lancer to write an article for me. However, when I publish the article i.e. Ezine Articles Directory, who's name do I legally put the article under-theirs or mine?

Thank you.

If it is exclusively yours, as in they ghost wrote it for you, you can legally put your own name on it. Same with PLR articles that give you the rights to do it. (Just don't submit unaltered PLR with your name to EZA) Hope that helps.

    Hi Cloudchaser,

It is ok to put your name as a legal writer of those articles. Your ghostwriter is only a ghostwriter and you paid for their service.

To be safe, just make sure that your writer know the terms before hiring them.

    My 2 cents,

You should make sure that when you outsource your article writing that its clear between both parties that the buyer receives full intellectual property/copyrights to all the articles.

I'm a starter, but I am willing to try everything I can to be a successful internet marketer and chase my dreams. If you can answer any of my questions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

          Private Label Rights.

Speaking of PLR... does anyone know if CopyScape is a good tool to check originality of an article? Or is there a better solution?

Frank is completely right, if you hire a decent freelancer they will make all of this clear to you when you employ them in their terms of business.

Just wanted to add that if you are intending to find an article writer through one of the freelance jobs websites, be sure to check the articles you are given through copyscape BEFORE you pay for them.

Make it clear to the writer that you will have full permission to use their articles under your name, and the license will be exclusive to you only (nobody else can use the articles they have given you).

              Aanii all,

Speaking from personal experience, a ghost writer is someone who will write your articles, books, ebooks etc for you and you will own the material 100% and be able to publish it under your name where ever and when ever you want to.

A ghost writer can work for their self and would be a freelance writer as well. Or a ghost writer can work for a publisher or other writing business and be a employee of that company and not a freelance writer.

A freelance writer just means that they work for themselves.

Hmm, it's late. I've just gotten back online after a 4 month health break, so I hope this explanation makes sense to you.

If not, just let me know and I'll re-word it so you understand.

By the way, it's wonderful to have you here and asking questions!! That's how we all learn more and more so keep it up!

              Blessings,
              Bluedolphin Crow

When somebody uses the term ghostwriter, they are just using it to imply a writer that works behind the scenes and is never credited for any of the work.
