Why Zero Emphasis on Powerful Graphics/Branding for your IM Campaigns?
First off this is not a knock on anyone! It's just it seems a lot of people seem to competely discount this.
One thing I've noticed that seems to be almost universally consistent among various internet marketing campaigns on here is that despite excellent copywriting, ingenious SEO tactics and brilliant marketing there is very little attention paid to the overall graphic look and in a larger sense, the overall branding of the product.
Now I've heard and read the arguments that fancy graphics just distract the user's attention, but my question is for you guys that are in this game long term, do you not think there would be a huge benefit into sprucing up your designs?
I mean we all know the power of it, we see it every day with the brands that are not about the product really, but the lifestyle. Nike, Apple, Adidas. Now true, they have FANTASTIC products, but even more important is their branding, a lot of which is translated into their visual look.
So what's stopping people from doing the same? Is it that it's too expensive? Too longterm? Doesn't seem possible?
As an example, i've posted a landing page that I did for Bodog awhile back, and then i just googled "gambling landing page' to give an example of a typical page:
