Hi warrior,
I want to know how to delete a thread or comment on this forum. There are some of my thread that I'll like deleted or can I completely edit my thread?
Thanks

Changing the subject line to [CLOSED] and changing the post to [CLOSED] has always worked for me.

However, if a good conversation is going on as the result of your initial post, then the mods may choose to leave it up.

    All the best,

      • Just report your own thread/post and put in the notes that you want it to be deleted for whatever reason. Works always except for occasions Michael mentioned above.

This, I think, is the point.

Your words "my own thread" seem to assume some sort of "proprietory right" emanating simply from having initiated the thread? You may find that that isn't necessarily the case at all. I'm "just saying".

Going back and editing or deleting your own posts/threads is like trying to re-invent yourself. Why would you worry about that? Old posts and threads get buried pretty fast around here as it is.

It's not always about "re-invention", sometimes it's about "clarification" (at least where editing is concerned).

As far as deletion goes, we all have bad days, and may post something in the heat of the moment; something we regret. While I believe in more of a "warts and all" approach, deleting our own posts is an option for a reason.

Now, getting back to the OP: I do wonder why there is a concern before it has even happened yet. In other words, are they thinking this is going to be such a frequent occurrence that they need to know how to fix it?

If so, then I would recommend thinking more BEFORE you post to help avoid the need for deleting threads. But...it is good to know how to do it just in case.

          All the best,
          Michael
