There wouldn't be a whole section on the forum where people are actively buying/selling solo ads if they didn't make money!

Edit: and yes, people still make a lot of money with solo ads. For a lot of people it is the only thing they do to make money online.

Thank you for the response. Do any of you use the Directory of Ezines or do you find your ezines in Google or like gotti mentioned in places like the forum we have here?

      Thanks

Have you checked out the directoryofezines.com site? The site owner has a PDF he sends out that does a nice job of introducing the potential of using ezines - solo ads being one of the ways.

He also does a nice job of selling his services, one of which is the $197 "lifetime" ezine directory membership, another a $200 auto-responder writing course. I got 5 emails from this guy yesterday alone! So he's kept in touch and heaped a ton of reading at me - all in one day.

If you're looking for a crash course on this subject, I think subscribing to his list (if only briefly) may be worth your while.

The OP was asking how effective are solo ads. It depends on your ad copy and market, but I have used them and still do almost daily. Excellent sources are the Directory of Ezines and the JV forum.

        Myob, hello,

I finallly got DOE, if i want to contact some of them (paid solo ads, to their list) in an email to them,

        a) do i have to say

"I am a member from DOE, so am requesting a solo ad......., here is my ad copy, will you consider my ad"

        b) are they Guarentied to REPLY BAck to my email, even if it is a rejection? or some people don't reply back?

and do they Always reply back? or some of them can ignore you forever?

        c) what is the waiting period, for some of these, for your solo email to be on their list?

        d) Do they Always accept ads (Aslong as they are good copy, and targeted to their niche) - or they can still chose to deny?

The DOE is just a directory; an organized listing of ezine publishers by market/niche. Some may give ad discounts to fellow DOE members, which is usually listed as part of the publishers' info. The type of ads and rates offered will vary as well as the waiting period, although again the time frame for the advertising queue is indicated in the directory.

Publishers are not specifically "required" to reply to inquiries, although I have found they do follow reasonable business etiquette. The only instances when I can imagine they would reject your ad would be perhaps an improper target market or an unsuitable ad.

There is no one blanket statement that will answer all your questions regarding the publishers. The DOE itself will normally do that for you, or you can contact respective publishers directly.

I've been using the DOE for nearly 10 years, and it is one of the most valuable marketing tools I've used for targeting niche markets. You can also test your solo ads with a free service I use frequently just to try out some new ideas. It's solo-ads.com (not affiliated in any way). You earn free advertising credits by reading other subscribers' ads. There is also a paid option where you can send up to 3,000 ads for $25. If you can get a 1-2% response, you're good to go for more targeted ad sources.

Thanks for the suggestion of solo-ads.com.

Do you incorporate the use of solo ads in most of the niche markets you are involved in?

Absolutely. IMO, solo advertising is the second most powerful online marketing media, and most of my online advertising budget is blown just for that single resource.

        1-2% of visitors?

or 1-2% of subscribers joining your list?

I am currently using solo ads to build my business. Do they work? Absolutely! I suggest that you study everything that you can about solo ads and then start running your own. I hope this helps.

It all depends on the quality of the list. Sometimes
you find a good list, other times you find a bad one.

Personally I prefer to use solo ads to build my own
lists instead of sending them directly to a seller's
    webpage.

Anyway, do your research before buying.

solo ads still work great but the most important part is your sales funnel

if you have a good converting sales funnel then solo ads will work great

get the sales funnel wrong when using solo ads or any paid traffic method for that matter and it will cost you a lot of money
