A Big Apology to Warrior Forum...

I wanted to publicly apologise to the warrior forum, particularly to warriors I was extremely out of order to in the past, when I first came across this forum. I really was quite sick at the time, but it does not justify my behavior at that time (I'm talking roughly 7 years ago). I am making this apology because I feel that I was totally wrong in the ways I behaved, and I also feel I have done a lot of work on myself to the point where I can make an apology and actually mean it. I am very sorry for what I said and did at that time and wish I could take it back, I really do. Thank you for allowing me to make this post. Sam Beatson.

      Hi Jared,

      HYPNOLIMINAL - Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy + Subliminal. I coined the word.

    Great!

Like most others, I wasn't here either. But there are times in my life where I felt an apology was in order and I don't think there is any statute of limitations on an apology.

In fact, let's make this a thread of free apologies.

Sam, I'm truly sorry to you. Things aren't always what they seem.

Sorry to everyone else here too.

I hope that my apologies mark a healing process for each and every one of you. :p

Okay you're join date was 2005. This is 2008. Almost 2009. 7 years ago was 2001. How could you have done something wrong on WF 7 years ago if you've only been here 3 years? Or did you have another username back then and what was it? Has no one else noticed that?

Hi annoyedgirl - you are perfectly correct - I had another username. I'm pretty sure I was jobfreetop before 2005 though. I had to start a new profile because I had destroyed myself through the behaviour I mentioned (that is English spelling of behavior). I would not have made the 100+ sales of my first WSO "the ebayhits report" had I not done that though. I had to lay low as to who I really was. Wishing you peace and possibilities today and always.

        Oh, nonsense.

In 2001 the WF was a paid site that had JUST launched. It didn't even EXIST in the form it is now- not even close.

Not only that, but according to your profile, you are 23 years old. Do you expect us to believe that you were a WF member actively posting about IM issues when you were 16? That happens fairly frequently today, but back in 2001? I never saw that trend until just a couple of years ago.

Another thing...You and I joined about the same time, and I remember you. As far as I can recall, the only hot water you ever got into was by basically accusing several prominent Warriors of using someone else to post for them to inflate their post count.

And...as I recall, there wasn't that big a deal made about it besides some mild flaming, and you walked away basically unscathed. So what is this Great Sin you feel the need to atone for? Especially now, with a WSO running?

        @Mike McBride & AnnoyedGirl:

        Agreed. I call Bullshit.

Good luck with the WSO, Dude...

Glenn, I joined in about 2002/3 I think. Yes, it was a paid forum, but the warriorforum/forum link was indexed somewhere I believe. I was not a paid member. At the time I was a medical student at a prominent UK university, and could not afford Allen's products or the hostforprofit whatever it was to get in. Stop being so slanderous. I am a longstanding member of this forum, since around 2002/3, my second or third year at university. And I'm 28 now.

Yeah...so...your username back then was jobfreetop and today it's the exact same username jobfreetop, the join date just magically changed from 2001 or 2002 to 2005? Um, ok. Maybe I'll try to see if I can change my username again to the exact same one I have now. Sounds...useless, but interesting.

Since nobody knows what the heck you're talking about and everyone says "thanks for apologizing but i dont know what you did" why don't you just PM everyone you offended 7 years ago and personally apologize for your mystery offense that no one knows about.

Apologizing to a bunch of people who don't know who you are and who you don't know for something bad you allegedly did 7 years ago isn't going to do anything. Strangers can't forgive you for something you didn't do to them. Go straight to whoever it is you hurt. And don't try your hypno stuff on me either.

Really? It takes no balls at all to apologize for something when nobody knows what the hell you're apologizing for. It takes no balls to apologize for something that nobody cares about.

It just takes balls to come along and start "apologizing" when you want to call attention to your new WSO, which, just coincidentally, is all about changing your behavior.

Sometimes sorry just means you're sorry, Mike. However I appreciate the jadedness that marketers feel about sneaky WSO promotion tactics. There is no conspiracy theory here. AB RAH CAD DAB RAH etc etc

Maybe I am missing something here.

If the OP is sincere in their apology, then only time will tell.

If they have a WSO in the sig file and the timing seems to be a 'coincidence' (or on purpose), then this is a marketing forum, so what difference does it make. Only time will tell.

The fact that they came back after a few of the remarks that were made is what took more 'guts' than the apology. And again, if the OP has committed offenses in the past, then coming clean, no matter what the time frame, is always good for the soul.

If it is a ruse to promote a WSO, then it will be shown for what it is in time. And yet some of the marketing techniques being used today aren't much different. The most annoying of late being the subject line of "I have some bad news".

Now, the thing that concerns me is the 'jaded' attitude that I am starting to see more and more of on this forum. I have been a long time member, who only started back being involved here. Many great things to learn and people to know.

The reason I quit coming around before was because of the consistant scrutiny and belittlement of people that posted contrary to the 'status quo'. Sometimes it became like a feeding frenzy that didn't stop until blood was shed.

Since I have been back, I am starting to see this more and more. Sad, because this became the image that this forum presented to new people that came here and was something that was discussed on other forums. The feeling of being alienated for not conforming to the percieved 'status quo' really had an impact and stop many from participating here, many that really could have benefited from the combined experience and knowledge found here.

Bottom line is, if the OP is sincere in their apology, then people are obligated to accept it and move on. If they aren't, then it will become apparent, they will be exposed and soon be gone...

BUT, more important is this forum remain a safe haven for people to come, ask their questions and receive positive and helpful responses. Yes, there will be what are percieved as 'stupid' questions (to me there are no stupid questions if asked in sincerity), but people are people and everyine has their moments.

Hopefully, at those moments there will be enough 'mature' marketers here that will step up to guide and teach, rather than berate and belittle.

Sorry for getting off topic, but I needed to say this.

To Sam, I think what you have done is commendable, if you are sincere. The burden is now on you to prove it and I hope you do.

    Thanks,

    John

Why would anyone feel the need to post something like this...
A few possibilities spring immediately to mind. Assign your own estimate of probability to each one:

He really thinks he did something for which an apology years later will make a difference, and wants to fix it.

      He likes drama.

He believes, based on the way people respond with, "Yep. You're a man. We love you" every time someone apologizes, that it's good for his image.

He's attempting to establish his reputation as an expert in the personal change field.

He's trying to drum up attention for his products, by posting multiple threads that point to them in different ways.

A combination of some/all of the above.

Something else entirely, which hasn't occurred to me.

The fact that only one of those is positive should not be considered a sign that there's something negative here. It just means that there's no positive explanation I can think of offhand for a fake apology, if that's what it is.

I don't remember what he's talking about. Given that I was a moderator here at the time and would almost certainly have been in the thick of it, it can't have been anything too horrible.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. And he did say he had been "sick" back then. Sounds like a 12-step program to me.

If so, good for him. I applaud him; although I can understand the scrutiny by the other posters because it all seems quite odd.

    Paul,

As always, thank your for your valuable insight.

The thing I see is not so much the apology, but the fact that the OP has come back, responded and maintained his composure in the face of adversity and scepticism as opposed to striking back.

    Thanks,

    This is funny.....

First of all I don't believe a single word he's saying in this thread
because it has all backfired on him!

But what I will give him credit for is the will to succeed, he's trying
everything he can to get more WSO sales which is alright in my
    opinion but not like this!

This thread might have slipped under the radar on every other IM

I haven't seen anything that "backfired," except that he drew skeptical responses from people who don't know what he's talking about.

The opinions of others have nothing to do with whether or not the original comments are true and sincere.

How do you explain the 7 years??

Okey... maybe I said something I shouldn't have said
but I was just agreeing to fellow warriors that didn't buy
this! Of course it's possible that he was here 7 years
ago and did something bad, but coming to the forum 7
years later and apology without saying exactly what he's
apologizing to or whom is just not they way to go!

Also a new WSO is not helping his cause.

Paul, I hurt some people with my words on this forum in the past. I acted out, I was wrong and I recognise that. I'm now apologising for that to those people in the only way I know how which was to post because I don't remember individual names, but I do remember some of the comments I made and the comments others made, too. The fact others want to join the thread for whatever reason, is absolutely OK by me. I wanted to apologise for me, because I was extremely hurtful towards others on this forum in the past, and for them to let them know. All of us want attention, it's a part of human nature, whether we're rich, poor, married, or Hugh Heffner, if you read this thread as an expression of my wanting attention, that's fine, too. May be none of the people who I feel I owe the apology too have seen it, may be they don't care. If you or others don't care, well it wasn't really a message for you anyway and you could have just realised this thread wasn't meant for you. I'm not going to be commenting on this thread any more now. I thank those who have supported me on this thread. I hope any inputs/comments help you in the short or long run, whether your own or anyone elses.

Well there have been a few posts like this recently.
They usually attract a lot of attention.
And once one makes a post like this,
it's not too long before everyone wants to start apologising.
    Ok I'll bite.
I apologize for anything I will do in the future that upsets the delicate and harmonious equilibrium of the members of the Warrior Forum.
Note in an attempt to save space I have posted on this "apology" thread - besides I don't have a new WSO to promote.

The preceding should clear me of all future dastardly deeds (my 2009 goal is to become a real bitch!)

    LOL

If your apology is sincere - congratulations for making it because 7 years is a long time to carry that baggage around.
Note: the above was an attempt to lighten the "mood" (except I could become a bitch is 2009... thinking about it...)

this! Of course it's possible that he was here 7 years
ago and did something bad, but coming to the forum 7
years later and apology without saying exactly what he's
apologizing to or whom is just not they way to go!

Also a new WSO is not helping his cause.

But I'm still unclear on WHAT you are apologizing for, and the timing of an incendiary subject line and post like this just yanks my chain every time.

So, once again, sorry if I got it wrong...

      Peace!

Tsk, tsk, tsk, all you people got it wrong. Why the instant apology? Wait a few years when no one knows what on earth you're talking about and be sure to release a wso at the same time.

I feel like apologizing too. Not here though I will open up a new thread in the future. I think you should start an apology thread too. You really pissed off a bunch of people last year. And you look mean in your avatar you should apologize for that too in a new thread of course. (And ppl had the nerve to say I looked mean in my last avatar! Think I will make a truly mean one, that will show 'em.)

Ok, I am back to clear something up. First of all this is nothing to do with 12 step programs which most people may not have even heard of. This isn't about coming off alcohol, cigarettes or steroids (see below). Secondly, I have removed all links to my WSO from this post. Thirdly, it came to my mind that I had not been participating on warrior forum, yet I used to make $100s or $1000s on each WSO I posted apart from one or two. I wondered why is my relationship not right with warrior forum. What came to mind is the incident in my colleges computer lab where I came by here a complete newbie and started viciously attacking warriors who did not want me promoting a network marketing opp on here. I was young, I was feeble, I was born in a log cabin...just kidding...I wan't really born in a log cabin. But I thought how can I make this right - and have done for some years because it has bothered me even if not anyone else. So, I made an apology. I'm really grateful that people have said that means I've got testicles. I'm very grateful for that. It has increased my awareness of having testicles. Joking aside though - I am grateful...but that's beside the point. I got the weight off my chest, hope that any of the warriors who were old and have died can RIP now (hows that for DELUSIONAL GRANDEUR --- and made amends in the most appropriate way I could think of that involved real action, which I feel was the right thing to do. I am sorry that some have found it an invitation to attack me either as a person or a marketer, but that's up to them, I'm cool with it! I'm happy, I got two homes a family, money, peace of mind anyway...I'd like to share that sometime may be, but for now, I just hope to bring something of value here when I can. Being in the trenches is NOT easy, but I just can't get enough of the GROWTH and getting taught about myself more and more. Ok nuff said. If you want to believe it is some evil WSO promotion scam, find out if that belief makes you feel worse, better or indifferent and make a choice or decision, nothing to do with me though, I'm doing my own thing.

No, not yet. I'm talking about the FUTURE. So I have a few years to think of a new one. Since you suggested a responsible parenting ebook maybe that will be my wso in a few years. Or maybe you will recommend something else. I don't think a responsible parenting one would sell.

But lets not take the future for granted tho...never brag about tomorrow, you may not be here tomorrow...that's life-and death :p

Dude-Out of all the people who remember you from way back when, not one person can remember anything you did or said that offended them. So whatever it is that's bothering you, it's not bothering anyone else. It's all gone, forgotten and over with. So just enjoy the WF and don't worry about whatever happened 7 years ago-nobody else is.

Now you are going to make me go over to the wayback machine to joggle my memory.

Probably would have been more productive to post some awesome content and build up some credibility for yourself as there are a lot more new warrior to build a reputation with than warriors that were here 7 years ago.

And it sounds like the members that were here don't remember what your talking about. Is there not a statue of limitations on bad behavior.

              Anyway I forgive you.

Ah, cynicism. I remember the time when I was as much a cynic

        Just kidding.

I remember Sam from those days, even if I have no idea what he apologized for. I must have missed those exchanges. Which would also mean it has nothing to do with me.

Even though I have been a member since ABOUT 2000, I did not spend every day here. I just remember both his actual name and his user name.

    Hi again Jobfreetop,,,

When I first made the post to congratulate your character there was no signature link and I just assumed you were apologizing.

    HOWEVER...

Now that it's getting some hits and people are beginning to question your intentions (that you only made this post with the foreknowledge of wanting to promote your WSO) and the fact you edited the post to include your signature link, may I suggest that you go back and re-edit your original post to remove your signature link.

Although I respect your wanting to market your WSO, but do you honestly think people are going to click on it and buy what your selling if they feel at all scammed into doing so?

At least removing your sig on this thread would remove any doubts in your authenticity to apologize.

    Just an idea?

Done on all posts. I did not realise you can do that unless you go to manage advanced. Thanks very much for pointing it out.

That doesn't prove what his original intention was either way...but it's a nice attempt at 'damage control'. Interesting though, how the apology didn't come into play until he noticed his sales were dropping....

Anyway, I don't care...I don't think anyone else does, either...just "do right" from now on and you'll be solid. Write some awesome sales copy for something and I'll still buy

Honesty got me to change my mind but still the WSO addon
