Which is the best mobile phone, iPhone, smart phone to use for mobile marketing purposes?

What are your recommendations? And why?

Please be as specific as possible.

Also, how much does the phone you recommend cost and where can it be bought from?

And which tariff best suits your needs?

I don't understand much about mobile marketing so I really don't understand why the kind of phone you have makes a difference in your marketing.

I kind of thought that mobile marketing was about sending messages out to other people's phones. Am I mistaken with that?

There really is no such thing as the "best" because it depends on many factors. I prefer to use the Samsung Nexus S because it is far more advanced than anything else IMO including the iPhone on the market. It has incredible features for making offline business presentations and demos for emerging technology such as QR codes and NFC (near field communications). Other phones may be more appropriate for specific or limited purposes. Certain aspects of mobile marketing, for instance, can be done with any phone such as SMS texting.

Yes, this. The Nexus S is a premium phone. Shame about the lack of real HDMI out port though, but I understand there's an adapter for it.

I like the HTC Desire for the same reason mentioned above.

HTC - Products - HTC Desire - Overview

I like androids as you get updates for the software rather than always having to buy a new phone as people who own iphones have to.

Just a nicer smartphone all round.

It's like asking which cow produces the best milk. It depends on service. All phones can be used for Mobile Marketing.

I would recommend a Droid phone or an iPhone. However, it depends on what you intend to do with the mobile device as it pertains to mobile marketing.

If you plan to do any offline consulting/marketing in the mobile marketing niche, you may want to look for a smartphone that has the capability to scan QR Codes. All smartphones on the market do not have the software installed that can read or scan these 2-D barcodes.

QR Codes are "hot" right now. So if you are interested in integrating QR Codes in your mobile marketing plan, I would suggest you look for a mobile device that can display mobile websites, read QR Codes, receive and send SMS messages and do other things you will need to do to on the spot to demonstrate the benefits and beauty of mobile marketing.

I don't know if it is the best or not. I use my droid eris. It posts, I can ftp with it, I can create simple web pages with it and upload them, read/answer all my email, I can even work on my ebooks with it. I dictated this entire post with the voice recognition system.

    Hi,

The best one is the one that makes you cash :-) They all work fine, although it's usually the "user" who stuffs up at the end of the day (and blames the device). hehehe :-)

I've got the iPhone 3gs, the iPhone 4, used HTC, just finished using Samsung Galaxy S for a week etc. There are pro's and con's, but are you using it for yourself, are you using it to solicit clients, are you using it for a combination of both? Get me?

At the end of the day it's not what YOU prefer, but rather what the CLIENTS prefer (and you know this by the sales you generate from showing the solution to their problem).
