I wonder the same. I am going to set up som squeeze pages. Is it possible to use weebly, squidoo, blogger, or similar for a squeeze page ? Or du you have to use 'proper' hosting ?

Well, people are very suspicious. Free hosting might look like you are a "scammer" or something like that. It surely doesn't add a value for you.

I suggest you grab a paid hosting and a cheap domain name (domain is like 7$ with godaddy coupon, and hosting is as low as 1-2$/mo), and you will look a lot more professional.

First, some of the free sites will shut you down if they smell commerce, and second, what Emilis said! Be a professional!

If you use MailChimp, then they give you a long url to host your squeeze page. You can also set up templates with them.

I suggest you get a domain name and hosting, this will convert more visitors into subscribers.

Use paid hosting, it's really not that much money and it's more reliable.

Let me give you some comparisons:

    Free Hosting
Uptime: If you have 75% uptime you've found a really good free host
Support: You'll never get any kind of support
Databases (to store your email list): Only about half the free hosts out there offer it
Speed: There's probably 10,000+ other sites running on the free server. Suffice to say, it's resources will be stretched pretty thin.

    Paid Hosting
Uptime: 99% uptime is the standard. I'm not sure about other hosting companies, but we've got 2 uptime monitors running to keep track of it (one is showing us 100% and the other is showing 99.97% uptime for the past month).
Support: Most off 24/7 support in some form
Databases: Most offer unlimited MySQL databases
Speed: You're looking at sharing the resources with maybe a few hundred accounts (if even) instead of several thousand accounts. It makes a huge difference in speed.

Paid, paid and paid! Paid hosting is so cheap now that if you can't afford the few bucks to drop into hosting, this really isn't the business for you. Free hosting is slow and unreliable and no one will take you serious. Start out small and use some cheap shared hosting and you can only go up from there!

You can use an .co.cc domain name. It looks somewhat like the .com
You can use byethost for hosting that is also free.
Drop me a PM if u need any help.
