I lost my long term client..NOW FALLING APART

by Chris Q Banned 21 replies
Hello guys!

After having successful projects with my client, this is the first time he's not responded to me for almost a week.

I felt guilty of myself. I did submit to his email about the final report of the monthly project with complete details and he did not talk me and disappeared. Not even his status at GTalk was online. I known him for almost one year now and counting, but this time it's not normal anymore which all of my projects were having no problems at all. He did paid me upfront for the project, but did not paid me for the remaining balance due to his absence.

* Is he on vacation?
* Is he at the hospital?
* Is he busy?
* Is he present but set status to invisible? Or....
* He already has a new service provider replacing me?

I sent him numerous emails but did not respond. This was a real sign that I'm falling apart. I'm not making money with affiliates and CPA, not even WSO's which I did take action step-by-step and no results at all.

While waiting for him to email me or give the remaining payment, I did some brainstorming and deep researching and took action all of the WSO's that I bought here....and it doesn't give me good results from free (articles, forums, blog comments) to paid (PPC, PPV, media buys) methods. I always sleep late (until 3 A.M.) just to find success for myself. This has improved myself to become a real internet marketer for life due to what I have learned here in Warrior Forums. To tell you the truth guys, I only have less than $700 left in my bank. Now I'm really confused on where should I go? What should I take action? This has nothing to do with giving up on IM, I still have fuel left in my tank.

There are no more excuses for myself. My goal is to improve and become more successful this year in order to live a happy life with my family and friends. Just bought a cheap mountain bike for myself in order to have morning exercise.

Ezine Article writing and submissions to top tier article directories, along with few social bookmarks and using his softwares like UAW, etc to mass submit articles.

      I'm a Platinum author BTW.

Head over and join a few freelancer sites such as freelancer.com , elance, etc and join up! - Then you can bid on jobs and I'm sure you'll get some clients there, I'm not looking for any writers myself at the moment as I've already got some people doing my stuff but there's loads of work on offer at those places!

Get yourself a few clients to keep your income going and then learn Internet Marketing on the side, slowly you'll learn to replace your services income with your IM income.

Was he your only client? You can always start by providing article writing service here... Probably you may have to start little cheaper to establish yourself & get reviews.. but once set, you should be able to get some regular clients here itself. Other freelance services mentioned above will also add to your income.

Sometimes people do take a while to respond, if he's been satisfied for a year so far then i'm sure he'll get back to you sooner or later.

I think your best bet now is to start advertising/offering your services at all the freelance sites you can think of, including Fiverr and its clones. Given the dire situation of your finances, I'd not sit on my hands any longer wishing and hoping for your client to respond. You need to take action now, and start making some immediate money before even thinking about affiliate or CPA marketing, which takes too long to pay out (given your current situation).

Platinum authors can get work with ease, you just need to know where to look & how to market yourself. At least this works for me.
As an article writer, it can often be risky to put all your eggs in one basket, simply due to the nature of the business.
1 client may not always need fresh content. Other things may happen too, as you pointed out in the OP (sick, dead, hospital etc...
You should be able to get more clients within a few days.

Place a writing gig here in the warriors for hire section. People are always looking for writers here. I would test out your service except I have someone working on a few articles for me for this week. So I am good for the week. Depending upon your writing style and what you are charging you should be able to do rather well here at the forum.

It only cost 20 to post a job here at the forum in the warriors for hire. Or you can do as mark has stated an bid on a few jobs at freelancer vworker or any of the other freelance sites. Push comes to shove head over to ebay and sell your services.

Sounds to me like you are jumping from one thing to the next. Just find one thing that works and concentrate on that. If you have been offering this service and had a steady client for over a year then I am sure you could find some other people who would also like this service.

You will solve your problem a lot faster by trying to make this one thing work rather than trying to go through loads of WSO's and other strategies in the hope of finding something that works.

You have already found something that works. Now get out there and find yourself some more customers. Offer your services for free if you need to just to get some clients on board.

Yes, he's my only client for now. Thank God someone is going to try out my services, at least for a cheap price on DP forums.

Finally, my prayer was answered. After minutes of starting this thread while my Gtalk opened, my client chatted me that he was traveling and he said that he's still "alive" to deal with me. It means that he's either to go there on vacation or for business purposes. You're right Mark, I never gave up hope. I thought he was really gone or not using me anymore.

I tried to pass their ODesk exam, but I always failed. It really sucks! I really thought about handling multiple clients, but the problem is my time management to do multiple projects alone. Forming a team could be good, but most of them are quite expensive on their rates while I provide cheap only.

I know. Since he contacted me through GTalk, I have one new client who is willing to try me out on DP forums. It will help me increase my monthly income too.

At least it's really worth for me to learn new techniques in these WSO's, but results are the problem. The reason I want to buy WSO's is to learn their secrets and to earn a possible 4 to 6 figure income for myself, at least (especially in autopilot with affiliates and CPA).

    1. it hasn't been a week yet
    2. seems like a year of article submissions is the most you can expect per client - your chosen model does not guarantee unending income - you will always need to find new clients as they will not stay with you forever
    3. don't give up on the things you have tried - track your efforts and results and give it more time and effort
    4. stay focused on one income stream until you have mastered it

That's my four cents worth....

While the situation you're describing is abnormal considering your past relationship experiences with your client, take a deep breath. It's only been a week. Maybe he forgot to tell you he was going away. I doubt that after a year he's just ignoring you. It is possible, but I would not jump on that bandwagon right away.

Search on sites like Craigslist, oDesk, Elance, Freelancer, Freelance Writing Gigs, ProBlogger, and others to see if you can find more work.

I know it is easier said than done, but you don't have time for guilt or aggravation. Just take action.

Send me a private message also, please.

There are a couple lessons here for you... one is, don't depend on one big client.

The other lesson is... don't panic.

Nevertheless, you should learn your lesson - never, ever depend on one big client for your livelihood again. Don't be complacent and fall back into this mode of thinking, and as a matter of fact you should be actively searching out ways of diversifying and expanding your income right now.
