How to add a social network to WordPress?

INTERNET MARKETING

Using Ning, SocialGo, etc. is it at all possible to add a social network to a WordPress built site, instead of having a separate social network site from the main WP site?

I think it would be cool to have a tab that my site's members could click on that would then take them to the social network of the site...just thinking of ways to build a strong community amongst my members

Hi, Google can solveyour problem just type "Social networking plunging for Wordpress" and you will have number of results for it and try follow the described method and install it.

BuddyPress can be used. But be warned that its not easy to make it look good. Its a freaking nightmare. The whole structure is stupid really.

Another way is to look at integrating vBulletin or other standalone PHP solutions into your WordPress site. Probably a much easier solution really.

  One way to add the social site is to use the WP plugin: Page Links To which will allow you to have a tab in your wordpress site leading to your social site. When people go to the social site you should provide a link back to your original site.
  
  Here is and example. My site CentralFlorida411.com has a tab on top that says Social which leads to my Ning site. When people are there they see a tab in top menu that says Business Directory which leads back to my CentralFlorida411 site.
  
  The WP plugin: Page Links To is handy since it allows opening tabs in a separate window or not.
  
  BTW I recently found a social media script called JCOWS which is in Quick Install in my Host Gator cpanel and it seems pretty good.
