Bought .net domain for $10 today, how much for renewal?

Hello, I bought a .net domain from GoDaddy today. Just want to know, how to know the renewal charges. Its a nice domain name (Don't want to disclose right now) and I am afraid whether GoDaddy may charge extra ordinary amount for renewal for next year? How to know the renewal amount?

In the receipt it shows unit price = $14.99
Today's price = $9.99 (I bought it today)

Is't possible for Godaddy to charge abnormal amount for renewal?

Please help!
Thanks

$10 per domain is the standard price...for purchase as well as renewal.

But since you have bought it through GoDaddy, cant say much since they are good in mentally harassing people.

i don't really think they would do any such act, as such act would spoil their reputation. You must not forget that it is its credentials which has made godaddy the largest domain merchant on the internet...

I think you've just found out for yourself that purchasing a domain for the longest possible duration is how you get the absolute best deal. This one sounds like a keeper, and I definitely think you made the right choice in buying it for longer than a year.

One thing that confuses the heck out of people with G.daddy are the upsells. You'll be offered everything, but the kitchen sink!

All of my domain names are through go daddy and cost about $10 when I got them. If I were to renew them manually, I would pay around $14. However, I noticed that if I let them renew automatically, they have been renewing for the past several years at the $10 rate. Not sure why it works that way, but seems you get a better deal to just let them renew automatically and ignore the renewal notices when they come in.

This is why coupons are so important and from time to time Godaddy offers discounts. You will find them at NP or DNF.

I never understand why people bother using GoDaddy? What a piece of junk host and Domain registrar.

I had a domain name at GoDaddy once, and was experimenting with IP subclasses by switching domain name servers over to my new host and back. Needless to say, GoDaddy wouldn't let go of the domain name for nearly 3 days. That's almost 50,000 hits that went DIRECTLY to their adsense-covered, deal-splattered, excuse for a landing page.

I sent numerous emails to tech support, all of whom beseeched me to please "wait it out, and that the DNS takes time to propagate."

All I can say is, it only took NAMECHEAP (.) com 2 minutes to transfer the domain over to GoDaddy momentarily... yet somehow 3 days for GoDaddy to give it back.
