Article Marketing - The Best Approach To Follow

Hey Warriors,

I just want to discuss about different methods of article creating and syndication methods and to identify the best option.

There are two approaches in article creation and syndication

First Option: Creating Articles Using BUM marketing techniques

This option is carried out by first researching keywords which could be easily ranked in the top spots of organic search engine results page, taking the advantages of Authority Sites.

Using the first option is simple, but most of the time the traffic comes from only the search engine and it is highly targeted.

Second Option: Creating high quality articles which are demanded by a large group of people.

Creating high quality articles which have the power of syndicating across thousands of website publishers or bloggers. Traffic and links come from thousands of websites.

Now, which one do you prefer to go? Option 1 or 2 .

    Hi Mike,

I prefer option 2. While I am relatively new at article marketing, I think it makes sense to put a high quality article out there and let it work it's magic. It seems easier to me and you get a lot of bang for a small amount of work. I think the key is getting the quality whether you write the article yourself or hire a professional writer.

    Thanks for opening the discussion,
    reahma

i prefer option 2. Since it is demanded by people, the article will be very popular and can drive traffic to my site too...

I prefer option one even if the secon makes sense. The reason is that people will take your article and don't give a credit for it, it happens. The second option I whould use it for high traffic blogs. The high quality articles I will put them on my sites not article directories.

I usually use both of them .

But, for my main sites , I prefer to use option 2 .

I write many articles and use a article submission service and submit them to thousands of directories in hope that I can rank high for many of my keywords for my main site. But over the year online, I have learned the hard way that this is not the right way to do it.Can anyone help on that?

Yup - remember something... Never use one of any technique... don't ever put all your eggs in one basket, and be sure to spread your traffic generation evenly across a healthy, balanced terrain.

If bum marketing is your thing, then use option one..

But if you are concerned with mass amounts of viral power, and back links for free.. then do your market/keyword research, write a butt-load of articles, and go with option 2...

It really depends on what your end goal is!

I use a good mix of both, though I tend to favor option number 1 a little bit more.

I use both options too. I use linking strategies to help my articles rank well in the search engines and I also try to write some high quality articles hoping that they will be published on websites and in ezines. The two strategies work well together because if you can get your article to rank well not only will it get targeted SE traffic, but website, blog and ezine owners are more likely to find them.

About 80% of my content is generated by leading with "what people are interested in" and then marrying up some keyword optimization that fits within the content - while the remaining set of content are done with pure keyword optimization in mind.

I've found that - by far - the most effective is to mix the two techniques. After all, say your page ranks highly in the SE's, but the title, description and first paragraph of the content does NOT capture the attention of your visitor, chances are they won't click on the link or stay at your site for more than a few seconds even if they do visit your site.

Sometimes I think we tend to think too much about getting people to our site and not enough about getting them to take action.

If you begin to think more about what your visitor expects to see when they arrive at your site and what would compel them to take action (sign up to your list, click an affiliate link, buy your product, leave a blog comment, etc...) then your marketing will take on a entirely new tone.

Nice point that , traffic by itself is nothing unless you are able to convert the traffic into sales .

I use both methods. While I do write alot of articles using the bum marketing method, I still write quality articles either way.

Another little trick I like to use:

Write an article and submit to Ezine, linking to my blog or site. Then, take the same article and submit to 5 other article directories.

When I submit to the last, I use one link to link back to an older Ezine Article pertaining to the same topic. This way, I am adding new articles and helping boost the rank of an EZA at the same time. This method works very well for me.

    Good thread!

      Nice comment .

If the intent is to boost ranking , you can also link from authority sites .

Both methods work depending upon what you are doing and why you are doing it ...

Cross Interlinking of Articles is very effective and something that is not used by many people. There are many methods and different ways of doing things.

    Hi Mike,

Doesn't it depend on what kind of traffic you want?

If you want to build a list of customers, in a niche where people have long-term interests, then highly-targeted traffic is just what you want.

If you want high volumes of traffic, because you are affiliate selling and not building a list, then you want volume. If your article is focussed, then that'll help qualify your traffic, whatever the volume.

    Best Wishes for 2009

Instead of creating hundreds of 'articles', why not creating
a couple of 'high quality articles'.People using internet
to find information daily, if you can create good high quality
article, and distribute it across the internet, it will help
others to find what information they need.

I agree with your idea .

Creating articles of less value is not use for you and your readers .

So , to make the most from your efforts , you should create high quality articles .
