You don't need to know or learn everything to be successful online.

Actually, IM or Make Money Online ARE "evergreen niches", or so it has been for the last 15 years or so...

The term refers to niches where the people in them will always want information and products about those things.

The big three are Health, Wealth and Relationships. Obsessions, where people eagerly spend money on things like golf, fishing, pets, etc. are also profitable subjects that have stood the test of time.

That part about "standing the test of time" is what separates "evergreen" niches from fads.

The MMO niche has been around for ages, and it just existed in a different form before the advent of the internet. I find it amazing that MMO magazines still exist and physical salesletters continue to be mailed out to this very day, and it's a testament to the presence and longevity that this niche has in the marketplace.

Paul, I understand the point you're trying to make, but you may want to revisit your phrasing...

Essentially, you are saying that the MMO (Make Money Online) niche has been around before there was an Online.

But the essence is spot on. I used to handle the website for a local museum when I lived nearby, and among the exhibits were fliers for 'how to make money by mail' manuals from the 1870's...

As a rule, when I hear people talk about evergreen niches, they mean niches in which the content can be evergreen. That is, you can write something today and it will still be valid 10 and 20 years from now.

The problem with mixed terms like this is that they get used in such different contexts that they take on other meanings for different groups. That can add a lot to the confusion factor...

When you hear a marketer talk about evergreen content, etc; is talking about content that is not dated, and never will be outdated, and talking about dates; in an evergreen content you should never show dates, years, etc. So evergreen is about almost any niche.

Evergreen niches are simply niches that have consistent demand even as time passes or trends change. Also, this is a niche that has demand all year round. The IM niche is one type of evergreen niche.

evergreen ---> forever green ---> loads of money in them, past, present & future.
The thing to know about them is they are very lucrative...If you can beat the competition, which is much higher than other niches.

As an business man, I think of an evergreen niche as one where you can create a product that will consistently sell well for years to come. Good luck with that in the IM niche. Most IM information products seem to sell well up until the new flavor of the month takes its place.

The best way to create an evergreen product in the IM niche is to offer a service (ie Aweber, VideoForward.com, TrafficSage.com) or to create a marketplace (ie WarriorForum, PayDotCom, Flippa.com).

    Evergreen: Defined

A Niche that has universal appeal, season after season and year after year. Demand doesn't fade like niches tied to new events, seasons, fads, etc

I guess these three are always evergreen, no matter what we are talking about (online, offline etc):

    Health
    Wealth
    Love

Everyone cares about their health and how to look good, feel good, be well rested. Let's face it - health is probably biggest thing that everyone is always thinking about (a tooth ache seems like the end of the world).

Wealth. No comments here really (assuming that we are on warrior forum)

Love. Love makes the world go round lol Everyone cares about their loving ones. Who are desperate they want to know how to attract people, how go get back with their ex, how to improve relationship etc.

There are tons of subniches in these 3 broad niches, and I guess all of those subniches can be held "evergreen".

But if we are talking about the internet marketing, the evergreen niche in the internet marketing is the internet marketing itself, because who else is so internet marketing savyy, comfortable shopping online than the internet marketer itself.

It's pretty much pyramid scheme, but more marketers there are, the bigger IM exposure is, and the more marketers there will be, and the bigger audience is here to buy products related to the internet marketing that are teaching people how to sell these kind of products to internet marketers (I know... I've wrote this in the very confusing way! )
