Internet Marketers... Give Yourself a RAISE!

Warriors,

Many of you are product owners and/or service providers like myself...

We all know that the price of EVERYTHING continues to increase, the price of food and gas goes up, the price of milk goes up, clothing, entertainment, etc. every year, sometimes multiple times per year...

Well, being that us IM'ers are hard workers ourselves... Sometimes it's nice (and appropriate) to give yourself a raise!

If you sell an eBook for $9, why not raise it to $10 this year?

That $1 extra dollar will make you $100 extra dollars for every 100 sales.

If you sell your article writing services for $3 per article, why not charge $3.50 or $4?

Don't worry about the people who expect to get your products/services for pennies... Those are NOT the clients you want to have anyway.

I have sold high quality article writing services to clients (online and off) for upwards of $25 per article... Because they were WORTH IT.

2011 is a fresh year with new beginnings and a stronger economy.

Don't sell yourself short!

When was the last time you raised your prices?

Do you deserve a raise this year?

Best,
Shane

P.S. - Raising your prices by $0.50 cents or $1.00 is not going to make you lose customers...

This is a good point. However, I do feel that before you need to establish credibility first so that you can prove you are worth that raise.

If you have proven your value, then I think earnings will naturally grow.

      I agree with you completely!

However, this post is slightly more geared towards marketers that already have a QUALITY product or service that they provide.

If you don't provide quality or value, people will soon find out and they won't buy anything from you at ANY price!

      Best,
      Shane

    That's true, Shane.

I really just wanted to put that point out there, because there are those who don't offer the quality and wonder why no one pays the higher rate.

This is very good Shane. I think that people need to stop trying to lower their prices because then their perceived value by the customer is lower. When you value yourself highly the customer will as well.

This is good advice, but I would closely monitor the effects of raising prices even by a single dollar. A product at $19 may sell a lot more than $20.

Thats why we are in the im business in the first place. We test everything before we make it mandatory. So I agree if you have a decent clientele already then go a head and raise the price slightly just to see how they react.

However if you are new and you are just making products and not services why not start off high then bring it down later. While that product starts increasing in sales that would give you time to expand and create a new product.

So it is not always about raising the prices either. If you are a product creator then just make another product of the same or lesser value and sell that as well. Now instead of having the single product you now have 2 products you are selling so you did just give your self a raise.

Good Point. Here in the UK inflation has risen to 4%.

It makes sense for established products and services to do the same
