transferring basic wordpress design to premium

hey guys my question pertains to wordpress.

Say I want to design a basic website on wordpress and then transfer it over to a premium cleaner looking site is that doable without effecting s.e.o and such?

    2. Even there it wouldn't make much sense... you do NOT "transfer" a design. Rethink, leave out any "technical" terms and explain in plain English what is your desired end-result.

    If you mean changing the theme, that depends. Some themes have built-in SEO features. And if your layout is drastically altered (permalinks, categories, etc.) that could affect your on-page SEO. Of course these could all be recreated, replicated or even enhanced but again it depends on exactly what you mean by transfer.

    This question is being asked for SOME reason, but the implication behind it is lost on me.

    Kind of like asking, "Is it a good idea to send my kid to public school for 5 years, then transfer him to a private school so he can get a better education?" As if the private school will correct any deficiencies created in the public school.
