Help needed on this nagging WordPress Problem.

Hello folks,
please I'll love some advice on how to tackle this issue i have with my Wordpress website.
I created an affiliate blog some weeks ago round a small niche, i created the theme using Artisteer. I have added some contents to it and i also created an About me page, a Privacy Policy page and a Contact Me page. The website has a home page and that's where all my posts go to, but when i go through my wp-admin, it says i have only 3 pages and not 4.
Also when i try to check my links using yahoo site explore, it says i have 'No Pages'.
My questions are:
Do i create a fresh Home page? If yes, how do i transfer the posts to this new home page? And how do i delete the previous Home Page since having two home Pages will look weird?
Or better still, is there anything i can do to rectify this problem?
I hope my questions are clear enough, please any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Your WP home page is just a view if you use the standard set up. You only have three pages: about, privacy, and contact.

The default theme is set to display X number of posts if you go to the "home page." Some themes will have a tricked out home page display, but that is set in the files of the theme itself.

You can also set one of your pages to display on the home page under Settings => Reading. Then check the option to display a static page and then your page from the drop down menu.

The "no pages" in Yahoo site explorer is another issue. It sounds like none of the pages of your site are indexed. Did you change the privacy settings in Wordpress so it is accessible to search engines?

It is under Settings => privacy

But how can this be when still using Yahoo site explorer, it shows that i have about 16 Inbound links to the site? More over, the website has already been indexed by Google. I know this because if i use the site:"mysitename.com" command or the cached:"mysitemname.com" command, on google I'll see my website there.
Please can you throw more light on this?

The reason you only have 3 pages is because you've only created 3. You can delete any pages in the same place you created them.

    Hmm, I don't know.

I do have one site that I have blocked but have backlinks to. The backlinking sites show in YSE and no pages are found . . . but it doesn't display in Google either.

I'll take a stab at this...

Typically, the homepage of the blog represents a POST and not a PAGE. So you might have 3 pages and 1 post. Or I'm totally not understanding what exactly the problem is.

No, I have about 3 posts on the homepage, please you can check my signature file for the website in question.
The problem is that yahoo site explorer says the website has "no pages" despite 16 inbound links to the site. I'm trying to build more back links to the site but i just fear that there is something i might be doing wrong and I'll like to rectify it before i go on.
I have a competitor for the keyword I'm trying to rank. This person has 0 links to his site but only 1 page shown on YSE yet he ranks Number 2 for the keyword while I'm somewhere around 150 .
        What am i doing wrong?

Make sure to install & activate the xml sitemap plugin, which will automatically submit your pages to search engines. Also make sure you don't have a default .htaccess file blocking search engine spiders. Check your .htaccess files. I would create additional pages with articles and cross-link them for even better SEO. Everyone focuses on backlinks but no one pays attention to internal linking, this is also important and cross-linked pages show up in yahoo siteexplorer as inlinks. I recommend instaklling YARPP plugin for wordpress which automatically does this with your blog posts.

Your concern is that YSE isn't showing pages on your site yet. Have you thought about being patient? Google is showing a lot of pages for your site, it could just be that Yahoo hasn't gotten around to doing a full index of your site.

Let me bring the big news: there is NO problem, so there shouldn't be anything to "rectify".

Forget what siteexplorer or what-not is saying. Your blog behaves EXACTLY as a blog should and it just works as people familiar with blogs expect it to work. <-- Believe me, that's the most important about a WP based website.

So, once again: there is nothing to fix on that blog... except your knowledge about blogging software. When you will learn how they work - you will not want to "rectify" anything.

Thanks Istvan, your reply has been the most soothing today and i'm happy to know that there's nothing wrong with my blog. I guess i have to rest on this issue for now while I fix my knowledge about blogging software.

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread.
