My First Sale and why you can too

Hey Warriors,

Logged in to Clickbank this morning on my way to the market place to discover I had made my first sale a couple days ago!

Now I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting this. I was hoping for it, but because of my sites newness (and my newness to IM) I was surprised and very excited to see it.

I've been IMing for under 2 months. I'm 18, have no real special talent for writing, web design, article marketing, coding or understanding of coding or anything techy for that fact. In saying that, I'm learning as I go and I have an awesome bro who's helping a lot.

It was certainly not easy. In the time leading up to this moment, I've found myself frustrated over the most simple things, spent a lot of the time reading and more or less doing things 5 times slower than I expect them to take in the future (not to mention getting sidetracked along the way). This is OK, I realise this and I know it's a given in the learning process.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's a process. Many people come to IM expecting a quick fix and that in turn is their downfall. Take your time, do your research, learn, apply, learn, apply, stick to one course of action. It is the same message many warriors teach and it just proves itself correct.

Hopefully one day I can make a full time income from IM, but for now I'm just happy I got a sale. I aim to 'scale it up' as advised vigorously by warriors in other threads - this includes building a list (an opt-in and an auto responder, Aweber to begin with or a free provider till I get used to it?) while optimizing/improving my site and increasing back link efforts.

It's so easy to get lost in IM. But you've already heard that before. Stick at it. If I can do it, so can you.

Well I hoped that motivated you a bit, if nothing else.

To the Future!

- David

Congratulations, David. Your experiences should serve as a great case study for newbies wanting to get into IM at minimal cost. The process won't always be easy, and the learning curve can be quite steep, but as you've demonstrated here it's quite possible to start seeing results within a few weeks of starting if you knuckle down and really focus on just one method.

As you say it is a process so if you don't make any other
sale during these days don't think that it doesn't work or
      that you are not lucky...

It's all about putting time, effort and work into it. Now
you know it is possible so keep doing and don't slack...

You know that product can make you money therefore stick to
it and find different ways to promote it, test different
approaches... You will see that it pay off.

      Thanks,

      PV Reymond,

Yep that's true. Funny thing is I only just installed google analytics so I don't just yet know what product I sold Thus displays my newbiness

      Paul,

Thanks - that last part especially rings true. Knuckling down and focusing is key but your effort can be put to waste if it's spread across too many goals.

          Dear David,

Congratulations on your first sale! I'm a Web Designer/Developer and Virtual Realty Consultant by trade, could help with your squeeze page and whip those auto responders into shape, and have had modest (Avg. $30/mo) success with the Amazon affiliate program.

However, I'm new to WF here, to ClickBank as well, and am curious to know if you would be interested in learning from each other? If not, I completely understand and still congratulate you but hope I'll hear from you soon.

            @ Cory,

Sure - send me a pm if you like. I would love some help with a squeeze page/auto responder sooner or later. I like to get in and have a crack at it first and then learn from my mistakes but advice is ALWAYS welcome and I'm sure I'll need some experienced eyes to see what I can improve.

              Dear David,

I apologize for the delay but have been receiving an error from WF saying that I had to post something like 50 messages before I could PM. I'm just now recovering from Bronchitis but wanted to let you know that I would still be honored to work with you and can be reached at cbuford at gwmo.com )

Hahaha seriously. I don't know if photoshopped clickbank screenshots are as obvious to everyone else as they are to me...(I do a lot of photoshop). When I see them on launches it's embarrassing and insulting... do they think people are complete morons? It must work in some cases to completely lie-

Congratulations and many more of them! There's nothing quite like the cold hard truth of actually seeing your own success to give you motivation. Thats all that really counts and if you did it once you can do it many many times. Its good to see that this forum is so supportive to fledgling marketers.

:-) That's my bro! Have seen very few newbies on this forum actually implement what I or anyone teaches quickly. Speed of implementation will determine if you struggle for years or earn a living by the end of 2011.

Talking about processes, article marketing, aweber... is that really you?
