Need A Little Advice...

Hi Warriors,

I am just wondering,

I am going to setup a review site that is going to be massive. I want to cover many products in one broad niche. Now I enjoy working with WP as its simple and as far as reviewing products, it will be quick and easy with posting on a blog.

But will how does Google rank a blog?

If say for example I did a post on my blog on a Weight Loss Supplement and my blog reviewed many weight loss supplements, would Google pick up that exact post for that specific weight loss supplement if searched for?????

I hope that isn't to complicated, but its important.

If not then I can use Xsitepro but I would much prefer to use WP as its so simple and easy to use and update!

Anybody know what would be best to do????

One think that I know based on experience is that blogs are crawled more often by SE bots especially if it is updated more frequently.

You would also need quality backlinks to your blog from relevant venues so it would have a better chance of ranking for your keywords in the SERPs.

I havent used wordpress but I have my blog on squarespace. All of my posts ranks in the search engines as seperate web pages which is great. Make sure you optimize each post you make and you will do fine with SEO

Each page on your website has different keywords. Yes google will pick up a page that has a specific keyword that people are searching for. The trick is to use keywords that have a high volume of searches and a low number of competiting websites for that search term.

Wordpress is great because your visitors can interact by leaving site comments, If you are planning a massive site you might want to look into a wordpress review plugin.

Wordpress blogs seemed to be crawled faster in general, because the blog will ping google on every update.

You may get indexed, but that has nothing to do with having your pages served up in search results.

          Backlinking will be more important.

When I see this strategy planned my immediate advice is "Don't try to be too many things to too many people".

A "Massive" review site is great in concept, but far harder to implement effectively in practice. You will definitely want to use a "Review" plug-in for WP as Kate suggests, which btw is by FAR the best platform to use for a project like this IMHO.

Just be very meticulous about matching your keywords and long-tail phrases to your individual content, and you'll be fine.

    Hope that helps!

    Hey GoGetta,

Wordpress should work fine for your site, the only thing I would recommend is to go to seopressformula dot com and download the two free templates that are there. These templates have been optimized for seo, there are virtually no outward signs that they are wp blogs. Not sure if this helps any as I am myself just starting to use them for my sites. But according to thier creator this helps especially if you are going to be monitizing your site. Hope this helps.
