IM Affiliate Refund Not fair

Hi... Need some opinion from you guys

Many of us IM ( affiliate ) get some sale and get some commision for it.

The question is :
As IM affiliate we did work for company to promote and bring sale, as soon as they buy we get commision, right..

Now We did our work for that, Then the costumer dont like it the products, then ask for refund, and then also our commision is gone when they ask refund.

My opinion,
we should still get the commision, no matter what after payment, because we bring the business,

I guess this is good for affiliate. Now If this is happen all of the seller (Vendor) will more carefully to create a products, because they can lose money to pay commision for us ( affiliate )

We did work for that not for free,( Vendor ) so if you dont want your product get refund make best products then.

What do you think with this idea ?

    Never going to happen. As an affiliate you take on the risk knowing that your transaction could get scrubbed. If you don't like that then its time to open up the internet marketing book and find another method of making money online. I assure you there is going to be someone right behind you coming in to fill the spot your leaving when you bail on the program.

    You have to think about this from the vendor's point of view. And not in terms of the product quality, but in terms of fraud-protection.

    If affiliates can get commissions, even for refunded purchases, that makes the vendor vulnerable to all sorts of fraudulent schemes.

    Especially if affiliates can buy through their own link and get a commission, then this would basically mean free money! Buy, get commission, ask for refund, repeat.

    So, with such a setup, the vendor would have a lot of extra work in making sure that all commissions are fair and no one is cheating them.

    Better to just pick good vendors and good products as an affiliate and not worry about the few refunds.

    You have to remember that it is a 2 way street.
    Without the product creator then you wouldn't have anything to sell.

    You mention that the creators would soon start making better products if affiliates still got the commision if a refund took place....well wouldn't they do that if no one signed up to sell their products in the first place.

    As an affiliate you can pretty much make money from anything on the internet these days....so don't stick with something that you don't like.....life is too short.

    As an affiliate, you are essentially a salesperson for a company, marketing their product. You get paid when you sell their product. If the product is returned and the money goes back to the customer, whose money is it that you want? The company that you are working for? Do you really think that they should pay you for a sale that was negated?

      And if you don't like it, would it be preferable for the seller to take greater care selecting affiliates that generate fewer refunds?

      I bet you would be just as happy not to sell my products at all, right?

    All the guys with lists full of serial refunders would love this......never will happen, and really shouldn't

    for all we know the person with the list could send out 2 emails...one that says...im going to send out a offer in my next email if you don't like it after you buy, your money back! just do a charge back lol....

    as tina said, you choose the product you promote, so your just as much to blame for the refund.

    Unfortunately, people don't always refund because the product is not of good quality, so you can't just assume that a good quality product would have 0 refunds.

    Think of it this way .... let's say you create your own product and an affiliate makes a sale. Say the product is $50 and you pay the affiliate 50% so you give him $25.

    Now, lets say the persons gets a refund - if affiliate comissions were not refunded then you would have to give the buyer $50 PLUS you would still be out the $25 you paid the affiliate.

    Doies it seem fair when you think of it that way?

      Good point.... affiliate marketing is not a job where you are paid whether there are sales or not. Its business. I would be like a pyramid scheme if money was paid to affilates and yet there is no money being made. The venture would be bankrupt

          Sounds like a surefire way for the vendor to go bust!

          You are a commission only salesperson and if the vendor
          doesn't keep the money from the sale - where is the
          money coming from to pay you?

          To my knowledge there hasn't been a product or service that
          offers an unconditional money back guarantee that hasn't or
          doesn't get refunds!

          The think is I Asking this,

          Cause I did promote products using google Adword , I spent my money to promote, I get sale and commision $ 500 I was happy Within a week.Then 2 days after minus $300 well i know ,google will never give me money back for this refund that why i come up with this idea.

          Is ok.. Experience is allways my best guru

    How about you promote a high value product instead of picking some random product with a decent gravity?

    Your logic is so flawed its amazing.

    Give a **** about your customer... promote an offer you believe in and your refunds will be low.

    Don't hammer your list or build a website around a terrible product and expect your retention to be high.

    Shouldn't happen and will never happen. Ultimately sites like CB want more vendors joining them and if more risks are laid onto vendors, well people will just choose some other affiliate sites.
