Free Trust Seal to boost your conversion rate

Hi all,

I would like to know if the members here would be interested in receiving a free trust seal of approval similar to the Verisign Trust program.

The free seal:

- Verifies the person behind the website
- Scans your site daily for malware
- Notifies you if there is a problem.

The main advantages is that having a 3rd party seal will boost your conversion rate. This has been proven over and over.

I am looking at starting a venture that would provide to qualifying websites the seal in return for their permission to send them a monthly offer by email.

Would such a service be interesting for you ?

Thanks for your feedback

Vincent

Sounds good. With all the false screen shots floating around it would give the purchaser some reassurance

A seal won't help with false screen shots, I'm afraid.

Why? What verifies you as credible? Why should I entrust my business to your seal? How do I know your seal wont LOWER customer trust or that you're even a business person with any experience whatsoever in providing verifiable data or proof, securely?

I'll pass. There are only a couple of seals worth having at this point, and even having those may not mean a boost to conversion rates.

The problem is that you don't have any credibility in the marketplace so you can't confer credibility to the people who place your seal on their website.

If you're just starting to create a seal of trust, the question is how you will get the reputation and credibility to back up your seal. Seals such as Verisign or eHonestOnline have already established their presence as trustworthy sources. The question is how will you establish your own credibility?

This already exists doesn't it? And much bigger beefier companies are providing it. Do you have a unique angle?

I would not want this service. If I was going to use a trust seal I would only ever use a company that has already established trust with consumers. If you are not willing to pay for a proper trust seal then you can't be too serious about your business.

When I come across websites that use those fake trust seals that are just images someone has created it immediately turns me off buying because I know if they are willing to deceive people with those seals, what other tricks are they willing to pull.
