Is it a Numbers Game for the Professionals

Hope you can help, I just have one question, "Is it a numbers game"

I have three websites, (see my signature) which I set up some years back, but traffic to them is very low. I have SEO'd them, and am even ranking number 1 on page 1 of Google UK for certain search terms such as Cheap designer watches, Mens Copper bangles etc. But search volumes are low and Im just not getting enough visitors.

I have written a few articles and about to do press releases, but to get any decent amount of traffic from these Free methods is taking too much time, which is difficult when you're working full time and have a young family.

My insomnia website is built on the model - where you build a list. My list is growing but very very slowly.

The Question is how do the Established IM's , do it in such a quick time.

PPC hasn't proved to be cost effective for me. I haven't tried Banner Advertising yet, but is this the answer, is this how the big boys get the traffic they need in a short time, by managing the cost of the traffic versus the money it bring in -> making sure theres profit.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

Insideman... It's definitely a numbers game.

The number you're looking at is 'hours,' and if you want to do better than what you're doing right now, you've got to put in more of them.

You say you've done 'a few articles.' That's not gonna work. I personally know a super affiliate who does like 400-500 articles to promote a single Clickbank product. He doesn't write all of them or even half of them. But the point is, they get done and he submits them somewhere. And the culmination of those 250K words floating in cyberspace generates enough traffic so that he can claim the title of super affiliate.

A few articles might work if you're talking about a totally unique topic that nobody else is focusing on. But that's not the case with any of your sites.

Big time sellers put in A LOT of work behind the scenes. They make it look easy, because their entire process can be distilled into a few key steps. But don't let the 6-step process fool you.

You either have to put in more hours working the free traffic methods that are already generating results for you, or you have to be willing to lose a few dollars experimenting with paid ads and the such.

I write press releases that generate clicks, leads and sales. Great reviews!

    • The thing I try to tell people all the time is it doesn't matter how much time you put in if no one ever sees it.

Think about where your target audience is and GO TO THEM.

Put your time in on forums about insomnia and do guest posts for blogs who talk about various mental disorders.

That's where your audience is... GO TO THEM.

Well, if you are talking about sales, yes, it's a number's game!

Now, to get instant traffic, the established IMs would resort to three methods mainly:
    1. Joint Venture Deals
    2. Paid Traffic (PPC, PPV, PPM)
    3. Forum Marketing

There you go! Article marketing and SEO are basically long-term marketing methods.

For a quicker method, you can try long tail SEO. If you are SEOing a small set of competitive words, that may take time and patience. However, for your niches, you can easily SEO hundreds of long tail keywords and get them to page 1 very quickly.

Another way to drive organic traffic is via wordpress blogs (hosted on wordpress, not your own install). However, be careful on how many backlinks you insert. If it begins to look spammy, they may close your account without warning.

I've never found PPC to be that cost effective if you want a lot of clicks. Try advertising on Facebook, targeting groups related to your niche.

your websites look okay and would definitely convert but what i think you need is to push traffic. Try to get hordes of traffic using the free methods you know. Do it yourself or outsource because you can rake in a lot of cash with those sites.

On some levels it's a numbers game.

How much does it cost you to buy a customer? To make a sale?

Any business needs to know those numbers to grow consistently.

On another level, it's a quality game. As in "high quality user
    experience".

Delivering an extremely high quality user experience is one of the
secrets to success in IM or any other business. It takes a lot
of attention to detail, hard work and dedication to pull it off.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, obviously, but time and
time again I see people asking why they aren't getting more traffic
or making more money and often it's because the stuff they are
putting out there is just boring.

Most marketing is a "numbers game." It really becomes a game of numbers once you find where your audience is at and you start marketing in that spot. The more targeted traffic you get the better opportunity you have to make a sale. Yet even with those who are desperately seeking a solution to a problem, you are still going to find a few that want something for free or don't have the money to buy the solution.

That's where the numbers game comes in, which is why those who create sites for Adsense live and die by traffic--targeted traffic at that!

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.
