My First $100 Day on Clickbank!

by kayden57 Banned

I had my first "3 figure" day on Clickbank today! I made 4 sales for $120.80!

I started IM almost 3 months ago and these sales came from my list, which is almost 2000 subscribers as of now.

I have been making 1-2 sales per day on average, but this is the first time I broke $100 in a single day.

A small milestone, I know, but vetry encouraging. My goal in the beginning has always been to make $100 per day for one week.

I'm one step closer to achieving it!

  • Good job Kayden, utilizing list marketing like that already puts you ahead of a lot of other marketers. It even allows you to compete in expensive markets because you have people on your list that you can promote to over and over again. Now just scale it and increase the conversions!

I started out with article marketing promoting a child anxiety product that pays a $66.55 commssion.

I made a few sales that way in the first two weeks, but then I learned about list building.

I switched to the IM niche and started building my list through outsourcing and writing my own articles, forum sigs, blog comments, traffic exchanges, safelists, giveaways, ad swaps, buying solo ads, guest posting, PPC, etc.

I didn't really have any luck until my list got to be about 500 subscribers or so, and then I started promoting products that paid $20-$30 commission.

I also started to buy up MRR products and make "bundles" of 25-50 products and sell them for $19 as an OTO.

I joined Safe Swaps and set up the OTO and that produces a lot of OTO sales.

Once my list got ot be 1000-1500, I started making 1-2 CB sales every day, and then a few times I made 3 sale sin one day, but today for the first time I actually made 4 sales.

I also get an occasional sale on the anxiety product and some other products I wrote articles for, but mostly it's through my list.

Basically, I just followed traditional marketing principles to get traffic, and built my list that way. The only really "new" thing I did was set up a Facebook Fan Page and then advertsie it on Facebook. I put an opt-in form right on the fan page with a video.

Also, I never promote those "magic push button" products or those junk softwares that promise to make you "$101,578.97 in 30 days!" That's total BS and none of those really work. Instead, I go through Clickbank and carefully select products that look like they really work, and then I buy them to make sure. I NEVER promote a product that does not work or that I don't like myself. I wouldn't want it done to me, and so I won't do it to others.

And I NEVER use those crappy email subject lines that you see everyone doing like, "You just made a sale!", or "Your download is ready", etc.

      That's basically it.

Just traditional principles that work coupled with honesty.

Really? That's too bad. The best advice I could offer you is to go back to basics. Article marketing works great, and it's not dead by a longshot, but I can't stress the importance of keyword research, especially since Google's recent algo change.

Also, if you are into a health or self-help niche, Yahoo Answers can be a great source of traffic if done right.

A lot of people fail at YA because they put links directly to a sales page in the "source" box.

          Here's how to work YA:

          1. Set up a blog in the niche you are interested in. Add 20-30 articles (if you aren't a writer, find some good PLR or better yet, outsource original content).

          2. Put a couple of opt-in forms on the blog. Offer a free report in your niche. Again, you can turn to MRR or PLR if you aren't able to write one.

          3. Create a really good resource box, and put that below each article. In this box, include your affiliate links.

          4. Find questions in your niche on YA and give a GOOD answer. The goal here is to get selected as the best answer all the time!

          5. Link back to an article on your blog that is relevant to the question. DO NOT put a link on every question you answer. That's a sure fire way to get your account banned. And NEVER put an affiliate link or link to a sales page. Switch up your links. Don't link back to your own site every time. Link back to sites like eHow, etc, and sites that have great info.

People think that they need to put their links in every question on YA to get traffic, when in fact, it only takes being selected as best answer on one or two hot YA questions to bring you a ton of long-term, targeted traffic.

Bottom line, don't be greedy with your link, and make EACH answer count. The name of the game with YA is quality, not quantity.

There you go. I just gave you a viable strategy to start making money.

But, you need to go out and DO IT or it won't work for you.

A massive hi 5 to you kayden the figures say it all. You are doing well because you you are taking ACTION Consistently (2000 subscribers in 3 months=consistent action). Most people fail with internet marketing because they don't take action consistently instead they look for shortcuts. Internet Marketing (without shortcuts) ALWAYS works.

    Nice one.

Good work! Yes list building is the best way to make money online and that is how I make a living online. You build a list and offer them value. You build a good relationship on trust. Every business on and offline are built on relationships.

I market big ticket items through a business opportunity on the front end (profits of $1,000 and up) and small click bank products on the back. My main goal is to market the big ticket items and earn big commissions. The click bank product commissions are solely for the purpose of raising a continuous budget to keep marketing big ticket items.

When I first got started doing IM full time (2007), it took me a 4 full months before I made my first $700 profit sale.

My friend. Judging from your results, i can say frankly that you are way ahead of most people i know in IM.

I'm not a fortune teller, but i can say bravely that if you continue with what you're doing now, you will be making five figures in no time. You will become an up and rising IM star.

    WHy do i say so?

Most people i know who are in IM know the power of list building, but never do anything about it. I'm guilty of that too.

over 9 months into my personal IM journey, i also did not start buidling a list. Its was only after doing so that i realised the immense potential of this.

For you, 2000 subs on your list, and you're only 3 months into IM? and making sales daily?

Trust me, when i first started, i wasn't even at your position, even after 9 mnths into this. You are really way ahead of most people in this market, and whatever you're doing, do keep it up.

    Congratulations my friend

You might want to read more thoroughly instead of skimming in the future - the OP revealed in one of his posts on this thread that he was promoting a child anxiety product, and that he wrote everything himself, including his autoresponder series.

Kayden, it's great that you realized the importance of listbuilding so early on - now if you continue building your list, create a strong relationship and also deliver value to them, you'll see your list generate (especially on a per-subscriber basis) even more revenue over the coming months. I hope no one over looks this comment.

It took me 2 years.. yeah.. 2 YEARS to start building a list.

      Don't be like me.

      P.S. I'm thickheaded.

Don't feel bad, the main thing is that you finally saw the light. I'm sure you're going full speed ahead with your listbuilding now.

These types of stories are very inspirational they will encourage those starting or thinking of quitting. It also show that people you say you have to be online for a long time to start making money are wrong.

    Kayden,
Great work and very exciting to hear you had a big day!

I think you summed it all up clearly with this line:

Just traditional principles that work coupled with honesty.
That'll never get old or outdated.

    All the best,

Yes, it's a great product. I've been given a review copy, and I went throught he whole product, and most of it is done by mediacal professionals.

It costs the buyer $97 and the affiliate gets $66 per sale. I've done very well with it. Really, I only need to make 4 or 5 sales per week at that rate to make quite a bit of cash.

All of this is outside my list, which is in the IM niche. This is actually the very first product I started promoting as an affiliate, and decided instead of going with other products to just pour all of my effort into this one.

As I said, I have a keyword list I cultivated of about 325 long-tail keywords, and I pick one every day and write an article on it, then I post it to 100 different directories and submit it to a site called Social Monkee, which gives me 100 backlinks from social media in less than 2 minutes (I have a premium account there).

So, I post the article to EZA, and then rewrite the article and post to all of the other directories and link back to the original EZA submission. So all of my EZA submissions to promote this product (53 counting yesterday) have over 200 backlinks each. Not to mention the other 100 or so directories that get their own views and clicks.

The product has been steady converting at one sale every 60 hops (I've been averaging 75-100 hops per day). It's got an awesome sales page, and it's a great product. Add those 2 properties to quality article traffic, and you have a recipe for success. I also post an answer or two every day in Yahoo Answers, and that brings some targeted traffic.

Also, I don't use a landing page. I bought a .info domain and set up a redirect.

hi kayden, thanks for sharing this.
you said that you rewrite the article you post on EZA, and then submit it to other directories, so the article you submit to other directories are all the same article? or do you rewrite it on each directory?
        thanks

    Hi,

First of all, congratulations on your first check!!

I'm starting with IM and I was wondering if you could give me some tips for keyword research. How did you find your product you're promoting? Are you using a blog or regular page. And lastly, could you give me tips in how to successfully get approved for my clickbank acc?

    Thanks a lot!

To answer your first question, I only used the Google Adwords tool. I just punched in a series of different terms, saved the results to an Excel file, then went in and copies the term and the search results and pasted them to a text file. I did that with 3 or so different terms, like "child anxiety", "child anxiety disorder", and "child anxiety attacks", and I just copied all the results until I had a list of 300+ keywords.

I don't even look at the search competiton now, I just go down the list and pick the next keyword, do about 15 minutes worth of research, and pump out a 400 word article. They aren't masterpieces, but they are just enough to "wet the reader's whistle".

The product is right in the CB Marketplace, I just picked a product with over a $50 commission in a niche that I thought I could rank in. Originally, it's the commission rate that caught my eye, and once I investigated, I liked the product and the sales page so I chose it.

As far as CB acceptance, I just filled out the form and got ccepted within 24 hours. That was about 4 months ago. don't know if anything has changed.

I don't use a blog. I bought a domain and redirect right to the sale spage, although I do have a blog set up that I also post all of my articles too just for added traffic.

Congrats on your $100 day--looking forward that myself!

I'd love an insight on HOW to work your list. This might seem really basic, but I don't want to alienate the subscribers I've attracted.

I have a couple of dog sites and have built up a couple of lists with a total 350 (and growing) via an opt-ins for free reports. I just started sending a newsletter with an ad at the bottom for one of my products (one's an ebook I wrote, another is a product we make). I want to offer the subscribers value and not constantly send just ads, but maybe I need to be more aggressive. Thoughts? What do you send out and how often?

    Hi,
Congratulations Kayden, I don't know what a $100 day feels like yet but I just wanted to let you all know that I just made my first online sale to the value of $30.80. I am absolutely over the moon. What a feeling to know that all my hard work is finally starting to pay off! My goal now is to go for the $100 day.

I am totally thrilled at making $30.80, it's just an amazing feeling.

    Best Regards to all,

    Steve.
