French market potential

Hello,

I am a native french speaker and actually learned english for IM (and more... of course) but I am thinking I could put my knowledge at use in France!

Do you think there is a market for IM in france? or any other market?

I realize a lot of people are turning to foreign market and have problem when it come to language. I also realize no one seems interested by french market...

So what do you think?

    bonjour coffeecashnow,

    That's a interesting question (I'm french too).

I think there not much of a market in french. It's kind of small. Since, that I do IM I always did it in English. I did considere a few years ago to do it in French, but it was a small market. Maybe, we need more French peoples.

Let see it it will be possible to do IM in French.

    Bonjour mes amis

Well, why worry about the IM niche, I would be more interested in any other niches.

With less people involved in IM in France we get less competition.

Less remind ourselves that French is spoken by a total of 500 million either as a first, second, or foreign language, a seizable market.

I have yet to tackle anything substantial in France ( I only have one domain name and I am putting it on SEDO as we speak)

Always keen to hear about interesting ventures

    Vive la France!

That kind of numbers are, usually, useless

E.g. Russian is spoken by 285,000,000 primary and secondary speakers... the problem is that 284,999,189 of them don't have disposable income. Or internet. And those that have (internet) - they don't buy, they just hack your website, LOL

So, how big is that market?

Your are right. those numbers don't necessarily convey an ability to buy...but I also know that you wouldn't argue that the French (or the Swiss, luxubourg, quebec, monaco, etc...)don't have any money...

There's got to be a sizeable, solvent, French speaking Market for an innumerable number of niches...

No, I won't argue that. Been in those places I know how they live...

However, what I'd argue (and just posted today in another similar thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post3424026) whether their online habits, internet usage patterns are the same as we know about our English-speaking markets...

    Bonjour à tous,

    One more french man here,

About french market, I think it could be interesting. I've made some targeted keywords researches for some ideas and found that the competition was far less important.

Moreover, the concept of internet marketing in France has almost no existence so again, it's less competition.

But I think there are some big problems. First I'm not sure french people would be receptive to the method we use.

Second, there are almost no ressources as we can find in english. For example, if you want promote a product and write a french article, it will be more difficult to find french article directories.

@coffeecashnow Just curiosity, where do you live in Caribbean?

    You could test it out.
There is less competition but also less traffic as well.

    Bonsoir!

I also did some research and found niches that could be good as amazon reviews website. Found the .fr for some good keywords.

I am not familiar with that kind of websites though, so never pushed it.

One of my main problem is (as stated before) outsourcing. However it would be much easier for me to write a good review in french!

Another big problem is the affiliate products! I came with the idea of using PLR and rewrite in french, get new graphics,etc... I didn't say translate! And sell as your own product. Now there would be a lot of possibilities. Same thing could be done with articles but it does involve some more work.

I wasn't focusing on the IM niche, I meant doing internet marketing, in any niche.

Sebastian, an?? I currently live in Sint Maarten, Dutch side, but was in Anguilla for the past 4 years. Do you know the place?

Ok guys, how about a french mastermind group? How about working together to start something big? Who's in?

      Hi:

I know that we have some Quebecer's on WF. Alcymart and Zach Booker come to mind. They would probably have some very useful thoughts on this subject.

Sounds like you are well on your way to tapping into this market.

Maybe I missed this on the thread but I know there are many French speakers in Africa and the Caribbean. Not much disposable income there, I know. But low competition amidst big numbers could build a good long-term list..

      Good Luck

I think it is a good idea to get into foreign markets because it will only get bigger and the spending habits through the internet will catch up. Just look at gravities on certain niches on clickbank for french products. Good luck!

I have been looking also in french market because I'm just starting with affiliate programs and just like for traffic generation, the fact that french speaking people are less numerous than english speaking people (native and second language) is less of a problem because there's also way less competition among french speaking webmasters. So it is easier to get more traffic on a french site than on an english site, at least that's my experience with developping little sites.

As for what to promote, well the situation is better than a few years back I can imagine, because it is still poor in 2012 on clickbank, only a few products worth promoting. So for sure there are many opportunities for those who would like to produce good info products in many areas for other to promote, the market is not saturated at all!
Also an information, I've found another affiliate network much like clickbank in french it is 1tpe.com there are more products there than on clickbank.
One problem also with vendors in french market is that many are still stuck with old thinking and only giving 50% or less commissions and screwing you with 1% rebill commissions and not having a decent affiliates page with material when in english market vendors know that they should treat affiliates like gold and so they put the maximum 75% commission and go the extra miles to provide tools for affiliates. On 1tpe the max is 70% but still not many vendors use that max, so pick only from those who do because it means they are clever and so their sales page and product must be good too, because they're not still thinking like old age.

In france at least one market is obvious it is the losing fat one, because it is a trend like in the us of people getting fatter and wanting from time to time to get back in shape. And that's also where some of the best sellers on clickbank have made an effort to produce the french versions of their ebook (truth about abs, fat burning furnace, etc.)

One thing that is not good for france market I think is when the vendor speaking (or testimonials) have the accent from Quebec. It's better a neutral accent or one from france. So think about it when selecting your products.
But not many have video, testimonials, etc.. all the good, tested stuff that the best english-speaking sellers use to convert into sales.
