Do any of you utilize surveys on your sites to get information from your visitors? It seems like a great (free) way to gather information if you can entice them to actually take the survey. I mean a real survey not those endless pages and pages of sucking information from them while hoping they quit before they actually win something. Just a simple- Did you find what you were looking for? How did you find the site? sort of survey...

How did you find the site?

This can be easily answered most of the times by installing some tracking
    software.

    Do I use them? No. Why? I don't know. I guess it's because I won't make
more money out of it. But I might do it just out of curiousity.

Well.. you can make more money with surveys by better finding out what your visitors are looking for and adjusting your site, AND by using an upsell page after they fill out the survey.
I can see that they are useful if they are short and unobtrusive. Lots of valuable information (if you ask the right questions) for free.
