AUTOBLOGGING: Are YOU Still Making Money?

Since the February 8th Update, it seems like Google really put their foot down on duplicate content and autoblogs. Some of my own websites that used profile link building techniques also got a small slap, but most have recovered, especially in the last week.

I am curious to hear if anyone has seen a recovery with their autoblogs? I currently do not own any autoblogs, but I have in the past.

Now to make this a little controversial and spark some good conversation, I don't think very many people are actually making money with autoblogs anymore (in fact most people in IM are not making money).

Autoblogs used to be a very sexy system and they are honestly super easy to set up. The problem was to really get them making money in past, you'd really have to hit your server hard. And if your main monetization method is Adsense, are you really willing to risk your account? Seriously, one day your website about Website Hosting will put out a post about Burger King and then Google WILL contact you. Then they will either ban your Adsense account or disable Adsense from being displayed on your website.

I am still making money from sites that make use of autoblogging systems, but I have to say, I never use that exclusively. I always mix it with unique content. I think that's the way to go when making use of autoblogging systems. Use it for more content, but don't have only that creating your site.

Really, only one person on WF is making money from autoblogging?

Thank you Leslie B for sharing your method.

I have been hearing mixed reports about auto blogging, seems like it isnt working all that well anymore. If you dont have much experience with auto blogging then I would recommend you to stay away from it

There is far more than just one person here on the WF making money with autoblogging, I know several actually. I am still making pretty good money with mine and havent seen any changes in the SERPS lately. I (like Leslie) add my own content to my autoblogs as well.

I think the people that have to worry are those that are building low quality sites that really dont have much to offer to someone reading them. If you focus on building quality sites that are presented professionally with good information then I believe you will be fine.

Just because you use automation to help you find content and build sites doesnt mean they have to be low quality sites...not at all.

The funny thing is that autoblogging was suppose to be newbie friendly and it's turned into a complex system to get up and running properly for most people.

I don't think it's all that complex in the grand scheme of things but it certainly isn't the easy push button solution many think it is.

It takes time, it takes patience, it takes testing to find what works for you as an individual, it takes quality work (not just quantity)..etc, pretty much the same as most IM methods.

I do OK with Autoblogging. Like the other guys here I feed in some manual content too and I don't rely on adsense.

So it seems that the people that are having success are mixing in their own unique content. So it is real semi-autoblogging.

LOL...I've been calling it semi-autoblogging for a while now actually.

I've also heard it called intelligent autoblogging...

      Either way, it works

The low-quality, spam-like autoblogs that just grab random trash articles and content really should just go away. Like the other successful bloggers here, I add my own unique content on a consistent basis because the blog is my business. Most people think of autoblogs as just a place to put their adsense and affiliate links. They don't care about the blog itself. That thinking is exactly why Google is coming down hard on them. They are just clogging up the bandwith and wasting good domains. There is still very good money to be made if you approach it as a business and care about the quality of your work. And if you want to be successful, you will have to work. A lot of things can be automated to make it easier, but easy doesn't mean lazy.

To blog or not to blog? That is the question!

At the risk of repeating myself from another post on
this topic, there's more than one way to profit from
autoblogs. You don't have to make money directly
from them. Like others in the thread, I autoblog, and
add my own unique content too.
