FTP Problem

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone can give me help with a quick problem I am having.
When I put all of my login details into Filezilla to access my files for a new site I have made, it gets to "Connection Established, waiting for welcome message" and that is it.

I have been through the steps with registation entries ftp file, and gone to file -> site manager but that gives the same results.

I have not made a new site for a long time so cannot remember if this occured before but it is quite irritating as I just wanted to quickly whip up a new sales flow strategy!

Oh and the help messages to the hostgator team do not appear to be working.

Any help would be great,

    Not sure about Filezilla...

    But if you are using hostgator you can upload via cPanel/File Manager...

    Login to cPanel (yourdomain.com/cpanel) and look for the file manager icon.

    More 'clunky' than a ftp client but it works

      Thank for that, I have uploaded a new index page to it and other files but they are not showing up when I type the domain in. It is quite frustrating. The site is loose20lbsin3weeks.com and it just doesn't seem to want to agree with me for anything.

        Is the DNS pointed at hostgator

        I took a look at your domain and it looks like it's pointing
        to a default NameCheap holding page.

        The DNS servers are currently set to...

        dns1.registrar-servers.com
        dns2.registrar-servers.com
        dns3.registrar-servers.com
        dns4.registrar-servers.com
        dns5.registrar-servers.com

        You need to log-in to NameCheap, select the domain and
        then point your domain to the name servers that contain
        your site files at HostGator.

        So, if you're with HostGator, the servers may be something
        like...

        nsXXX.websitewelcome.com
        nsXXY.websitewelcome.com

        It may take up to 48 hours for your new DNS settings to
        fully propgate all over the Internet.

          Thanks a lot Shaun, it is great to see warriors that actually take the time to read over a post and look into it before answering (unlike another post a few up!). Last time I created a web page the domain and hosting were with the same site so I did not have to do this step hence I missed it! Thank you for your kind insight,
