This week started off kind of bad. I got fired from my job. I missed a few days work from having the flu. And my job did not accept doctor's excuses. Crappy right. I've been living and breathing IM from the second I discovered it. I have 4 websites right now. We had a good bit of money left from our income taxes, so we have that cushion for now, so no rush for me to get another job asap. I am finally getting my sites the way I envisioned them. I've purchased a few good WSO's this month. Not crappy ones, but one's I can implement right away and confident I will see a return on my efforts. The reason I'm excited is because now I no longer have to go my crappy outside job. I'm getting to spend more time with my kids. And I've hired my very first assistant off odesk. She is a gem, she's affordable and dependable. By the middle of March all of my sites should be functioning the way I want them to, bringing in enough profit to allow me to stay home. Just wanted to say thank you to all the warriors on the forum posting your gems of wisdom. I don't chat much on the forums but I do listen...alot. Thank ya'll.

I think that is awesome. I would shoot for working from home as I think that will match your lifestyle more from what you say in your post. IE: more times with the kids and you don't have to go to work..yada yada.

Nice to hear , good luck with your success !

This is really somthing exciting .. just to think about .. no having to go work 8 hours a day, i currently have no job at the moment and somehow im a bit in a trap because i wanna start doing this seriously , i've told my parents etc but it's hard to make them believe it's actually possible , so my plan is to start with some easy things , im gonna do some fiverr gigs and stuff , and getting my firsts bucks , then i will reinvest this money into the creation of serious and valuable websites .

Your work didn't accept a doctor's excuse and were more willing to have you infect others than to excuse you from work? Gee I bet it felt awesome telling them that they were the ones making you need to vomit. It's the best revenge to be able to look them straight in the eye and ask "and I'm supposed to be upset about this why?"

All the success in the world to you.

Well, I'd hate to be negative here. I'm not going to say congratulations, because you got fired, you're living off savings, and hired an assistant to help with sites and work when THIS IS your job right now.

Getting fired, okay, maybe that is out of your control. Living off savings, while expecting this to replace your income, is very stupid. I believe you're setting yourself up for failure if you aren't already generating a decent monthly income from this.

The next thing is, you hired someone from odesk. That isn't a milestone, and if you're living off savings at the moment, I don't care if it costs $5, you don't spend a dime, since this is your new job. As for spending more time with kids, I understand that completely. I get it, but it doesn't really work out that way all the time.

I would suggest getting another job.. Part time even, that way you have SOMETHING steady.

I was in the same position as you, left a company to do this, and I struggle pretty bad when I first started. It was tough, still is.

I'm always delighted to hear success stories. You're so fortunate to have found a reasonable and dependable virtual assistant to help multiply your efforts. Now you can focus on the tasks you're good at and and outsource the rest. I hope your business and success grows and grows. :>)

I do plan on getting another part time job to help with extra income. Just excited that I have atleast 2 weeks to focus completely on my sites. And excited I have another person helping me with tasks I hate. You might not have faith in this producing income right away, but I do. At my old job, I was making roughly $400 every 2 weeks. I know for a fact I can make that with my 4 sites combined, and also through jobs I do online. My goal is to work online full time and my passion and hunger for that will not fail.

Sounds like you've got a good start!

Now take those sites and expand them to really see what potential they have, work hard for a few weeks and you should start to see some real rewards.

That helps build the confidence to push even harder.

Brandy, I'm sorry to hear that you lost your job, but it appears that you are very clear about what it is you'd like to accomplish with your IM, and you already have a plan in place as well! I'd recommend focusing on building up those sites consistently now that you have the time to do it - I truly think that your getting fired is a blessing in disguise, and you need to take full advantage of the free time that you have now!

You could also look into providing services as a means of obtaining additional immediate income at the current moment. It appears that you can write pretty well, so at the very least you'd be able to write articles for some quick extra cash.
