My Seven Day Action Plan

Some of you may have read the thread started by one Paul Roekle yesterday titled "7 Day Action Plan, How to enter a niche and turn a profit in 7 days." Well I read it early this morning and decided to follow his plan. I am a complete rookie and no very little about internet marketing. I figured if his plan could help me then it would probably help anyone. So I took action. I wanted to give an update for the benefit of all the newbies out there. Thank you Paul.

What I did on day One.

1.Went to Zeitgeist and found a trend somewhat related to my area of expertise.

2. Purchased a domain name at GoDaddy using a coupon code found on stated thread.

3 Opened an account at HostGator using another coupon code.

4. Downloaded Wordpress to site and found a theme enhanced for Adsense and SEO.
5 Opened an Aweber account.

6. Opened Adsense account.

7. Opened Amazon affiliate account.

8. Registered at Commission Junction and applied with three advertisers. Still waiting for confirmation. Will call all three on Monday.

9. Contacted a Ghost Writer who advertises on this forum and am hiring this person to write five articles for me.

10. Started a blog page on Blogger that links to my website.

11. Messed around with my website design.

Day Two Goals

Purchase a book on Wordpress. Way over my head.
Write one or two articles.
Find a good site for free stock photos to download to blogs.
Design a capture page. Already have my offer figured out.

Day Three

Go to work.

    Pace yourself! I don't want you to run out of steam! In the beginning when you are enthusiastic it is easy to over do, remember you are in it for the long term.

      Been pacing myself with Wild Turkey between the steps.
      I completely understand what you mean though and I will certainly follow that advice. I do feel a little burnt out.

        Take it easy with that Wild Turkey no telling what you might post Anyway best of luck to you....remember slow and steady wins the race. Although fast and furious might be more fun.

    After you get some unique content up on your site, you might want to optimize your on-page SEO for your main keyword (and maybe for some other good related keywords)

    Then do some backlinking (off-page SEO). I'd start with some profile backlinks, include some good information with an anchored link back to your site. Also try to create backlinks to 1-2 more pages on your website using other anchor texts, so you get a smooth linking map on your website.

    Build a network of related articles with backlinks to your money site, going on various WEB 2.0 properties.

    Create articles and submit them to the top article directories.

    Get all the links where you have backlinks and submit them to social bookmarking services, also submit RSS feeds and ping everything.

    Think that's about it.. just continue to do this until you see you ranked and bringing traffic in.

    Personally I use the service provided in my link and it's mostly enough to boost myself on page 1 with little effort on my side.

    It's great that you're taking pretty swift and decisive action. While promoting affiliate programs is great, nothing beats the sheer thrill (and fast money) of creating and selling your own product, so please don't neglect product creation when you're following the steps!

      I totally agree.

      I can say that my first affiliate sale made me happy as could be.

      Selling my first PLR pack (for 1/5th the price of the first affiliate sale) was way more exciting. Not only do I get all the money, I get a customer list to sell to again.
