For Maximum Clicks: Funny Viral Content vs. Good Content

So without going into too much detail. The current bread and butter of my internet marketing system involves a 60 day tracking cookie.

I have been most successful promoting these products so far, not by promoting individual products, but just by racking up as many targeted clicks as I can towards the products website which features articles and other relevant content.

I make most of my sales and profit, weeks down the line when the customers who were "infected" with my cookie make purchases from the site that may or may not be related to their original action clicking on my links.

I have a method of directing traffic, but what do you guys think will render more total clicks. A funny, viral type content which entices the user to click out of curiosity, or relevant strong content that entices the user to click for its value?

What do you think is the better method here?

It depends on the market and the type of content these people are expecting to see. Test and you will find out.

And it depends on how funny you really are...

        Hi xx,

Personally,I believe that relevant strong content is a winner any day.

This is because, your potential visitors must have gotten some values from your content and it will be easier for them to trust the link you are pointing at.

Many visitors that have no intention of making any purchase may bookmark your page simply because they got real value there.

You will be sure of more sales when your page is bookmarked by majority of your site visitors because of the quality content you offer.

The resultant effects is always more sales, referrals and repeat visits.

    Hello!

How do you get the tracking cookie to follow someone's PC for 60 days?

    Cheers,
    Lester
