Why You Won't Make Any Decent Money In Internet Marketing

There are many reasons why you won't make any decent money in internet marketing.

What reason do you think is the most likely reason people don't succeed?

Post your reason why you think many people won't make any decent money in internet marketing.

If you can avoid this list - then you are more likely to succeed.

I think it is because: "You don't have enough persistence to make it actually work."

  • In my case, I spent the past year reading, but never doing.

I have recently started doing, so we will see if all that reading will pay off

    • There are soooo many really and I think the number one is different for everyone.

      1. Listening too much to negative "broke minded" people who think you should just be average (yuck)

      2. Not being persistent enough. "uh yeah I tried that for like a week and it just didn't work" - give me a break

      3. getting knowledge, knowledge, knowledge, but never acting. Knowledge isn't power. Knowledge with ACTION is power.

Great Topic, and it will be profitable to those who even take your OP to heart.

I think many won't make decent money because they are too busy worrying about how others market than concentrating on how to spot the true successes and emulate them.

I'm not implying that anyone should go against their personal ethics. I'm just saying they should think more about their own marketing and worry less about how "he/she/they" do things.

I get to carried away with reading then get side tracked and lose focus on what I was just doing lol. I'm trying to break that habit but it's not easy.

I think the biggest reason is not focusing on learning one particular technique...many people try to learn as much as you can about everything, pretty much diluting your internet marketing education. I would say, pick a particular "angle" and stick with it a bit. Like PPC/CPA.

This is a great point! FOCUS is key. Though I'd say choose more than one way. It's never wise to have just one method by which you drive traffic/sales. Pick just a few: 3 or 4 and focus on those methods. Which methods you use will depend entirely on your produc/service and your target market.

You're absolutely right about diluting your efforts by trying to do EVERYTHING. You inject a lot of power and effectiveness into your marketing efforts by saying "NO." Choose 3-4 ways to market your stuff and say no to everything else. You'll gain a lot of clarity, use your time much more efficiently, be able to track your efforts more specifically -- and as I said, your efforts will become much more effective.

      Excellent point!

Amen, Dennis. That one single word is the key...ACTION. Of course, you could take lots of the wrong actions...but even doing that is better than doing nothing.

Here's the main reason: Not being creative.

I see many new IM'ers that follow whatever carrots that are dangled in front of them... 'here's my proven method' syndrome.

Doing 'what everyone else is doing' is not the way to stand out in a crowd.

Doing something that 'nobody else is doing' is the best way to get noticed.

Be unique. Be creative. Be an innovator.
