Article "Blitzing"...Not A Good Idea?

by Deric Yin 16 replies
I've found that churning out articles in batches (in the same niche) and submitting to EzineArticles.com had a 'cannibalization' effect - meaning that the combined total of pageviews remained more or less the same whether I submit only one or a batch of 4 articles at the same time.

Anyone else experiences this?

I have got a low-price product which is converting healthily at 4.9%, and for every article I write I usually make $28 in sales. However, given the 'cannibalization' effect mentioned above I can't possibly scale it up.

you could try expanding into different niches.

blitzing can be counterproductive, I'm told.

        Thanks, Big Mike.

I am still kinda gutted that the 'point of diminishing return' is ONE article, but hey, that's business.

I've never been a big fan of the blitz thing, though it does have its advantages with backlinks. You could experiment and try rewriting the first and last paragraphs and stick with submitting to the other top directories. It may be worth your time?

That's a good point by Big Mike. There IS a point of diminishing returns when it comes to the article submission process.

By right, if you submit 5 articles a day, that shouldn't result in diminishing returns. Because you have MORE chances to get page views, more chances to get traffic. Some people will click on many articles at a time, but most won't, so you will be grabbing more visitors.

It could be a great performing article that just happened to outperform 5 articles.

I recently put up a new adsense site and with gusto hammered out and submitted 45 articles for it in 9 days. That was 2 weeks ago and right now they are just starting to bring in inceasing traffic but at the start I was shocked because the traffic just was not there like i thought it would be from such huge rush of articles.

I have gotten much better results from articles submitted 1 a day or 1 every other day.

45 articles a day is definitely too much. 3 to 5 articles per day should be no problem. It's a nice balance.

Thanks for all the replies. I am sticking to submitting two per day to EZA.

Another option would be to submit the same articles to other directories. However, from experience, I found that EZA gave the most traffic by a HUGE margin. I was told that even the sum of all other directories would not compare to EZA!

Bear in mind too that you can submit 10 articles per day...as long as they are not in the same section.

So, technically, you can submit 50 articles per day (2 for each sub-niche) and get tons of traffic.

There is no specific rule to follow.

Do you submit the *same* articles in different sub-directories at EzineArticles.com? I think the titles will at least be unique, surely?

I personally write between 3 and 5 articles per day max. I try to write one per niche per day.

Submitting quality articles is important as well, if it's an article of quality content, people respect you for that.

Blitzing is quantity rather than quality - probably another reason why it's not a good idea.

As long as your titles are different and you're doing the extra gimmicks to get them onto page one of Google I don't see how this would be a complete show stopper. That being said, yes in all marketing there are saturation points...quite possibly for gathering traffic purely from EZA with blitzing this seems to be what you're experiencing. Put some juice on those puppies and see if you can drag them up into the Big G. ;-)

I've noticed this myself. When I started out, I wrote maybe 3 articles a day and got a sale. Then I got this smart idea, "if I write more, I'll make more sales". Ddin't work out that way, especially if they're in the same niche.

Now I typically write 6 articles a day, but it's basically 1 for each niche.

Ezinearticles is not the only game in town, why not submit some of them to other article directories like searchwarp?
