Pinging Services
etc etc

I agree , ppc is not effective all the time and once we stop paying for it , then the traffic falls back and so do the ranking.

Thus it is always better to get genuine traffic which might stick to the site if liked

The absolute best way to get traffic is to create something viral.

Give away something of value for FREE. For example, their was this one website that was giving away an Apple Ipad everyday for I think it was around a week. The way to sign up to win was to share it on Facbook or Twitter. I'm sure they created a big stampede of traffic that most likely ended up buying something and if nothing else building their email list.

So what you want to do is find something that your target market would love to have. It can be as simple as a gift certificate. But it has to be something of value.

Then use something like traffic-zombie.com to get them to share the giveaway.

I'm currently starting an SEO service company and one of the things that we are planning on doing is to give away a FREE month of SEO every month to someone.

When we start giving away that FREE month, then I'm planning on writing a Press release and submitting it to PRweb.com. That will create a buzz and start the viral flow of traffic.

The whole point of internet marketing that people seem to miss, is creating something or doing something that will make every visitor to want to share your website.

Get in the most popular forum, sign up and don't forget to add your keyword you want to rank for in the forum signature link. Just to add my 2 cents, I always figure the golden rule is keyword research, i.e. from the beginning make sure that you have proven and confirmed that your direction is worth pursuing.

So many sites are built and then pushed to get traffic, but it's those initial steps that is the foundation for your successes. Ranking will come naturally if you've done your research, and avoided getting attached or emotional about trying to make something work when the numbers didn't stack up in the first place.

I'm not insinuating you haven't done this, but just wanted to stress how critical that first step is. Much the same as a property investor will tell you that he makes his money before he buys, in other words, the numbers stack up and success is imminent.

I recommend two free methods, post original articles as more as you can, exchange links with high rank websites. It's easy to start, but a little hard to hold on.

Important Note: This article DOES NOT have to be keyword-centric.

A GREAT way to do this is to write about news in your niche. Search Google News for some cool news story that is related to your niche somehow and write an article sharing your views on it.

Then, go out and find the "Big Content" sites in your niche, email them a message saying you will give them this article if they keep the link in it back to your site. This gives you a VERY powerful backlink, a HUGE chance that it will be picked up and redistributed on other sites (more backlinks), PLUS you get some traffic.

You can repeat this process pretty easily. Just pick a news story somewhat related to your niche and go.

Yes, the main benefit of PPC I see is speed - it allows you to test a market fast and see if they are a "buying" market so to speak.

However apart from testing niches I don't really use PPC - all you need to do is find out where your target market are online i.e forums, discussions etc...

Interact and find out what they want and then give it to them!

Article Marketing, start your own blog, have a look at the top keyphrases that you WOULD buy in PPC and see which sites are ranking and whether or not you can add value.

Once you master this part - which is normally a lot of hard work you will be away!

There is lots of ways to go with seo. Your best bet is to see who is number one for the keywords you want and follow what they do. I know that its easier said then done but what isnt these days. If you have some money to spend get some seo tools, get a computer that is 4 core with lots of ram and mem. Then the rest is all up to you. You only get what you put into it. Want lots of income well you need to work alot. A good place to start is the war room. I have heard alot of good things go on in there. Hope this helps a little.
