How To Ask For Help With Testing

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm developing a new platform for building automation apps, and I'm at the stage where I want to have some people test the platform.

My question is -- can I just point to the download here, and have people report their experiences, or do I need to do a WSO. I'm not selling anything, but I will in the future sell automation apps built on top of this platform.

Any guidance appreciated!

you can provide the link to the download page. Or just send it to them over email

Maybe set up a facebook page with the app on it, and redirect people there.

Thanks Nick, but I've been burned in the past by putting a thread here with a download link and then getting spanked by a moderator because I didn't do a WSO.

I would have people apply to test the platform for you and give some details of their experience and their real details and non-free email address. Whoever is chosen to beta test for you will receive the download links via email..

I have to agree. I would think targeted testers would be much more valuable than just a random selection of people who like to get free stuff.

People who take the time to request a copy might also be more likely to actually read anything you might like them to know about what they are testing, so they could give competent feedback.
