How to link to my own original articles?

I have a real estate website and have been writing/submitting original articles to article directories for the last six months or so. Given the competition in my market, I've decided to write 10-15 original articles that are aimed solely at giving good, useful information to my site visitors and then linking to them from my site but NOT submitting them to any article directories. I'm hoping to get a SERP boost eventually just based on the addition of unique content to my site.

All of my web pages are based on a template that I created, so the main vertical and horizontal menus are the same on every page. My question is this: would you add a link to the articles (say I'll call it Real Estate Articles) on the homepage menu only or site wide so it shows up on every page? I can see a benefit to putting it on every page because visitors who find my site through one of the internal pages will still have access to that content without having to navigate to the home page, but I'm wondering if that would somehow devalue the uniqueness of the articles link (even though it's still on the same domain) over placing it just on the home page. So, home page only or every page on the site?

Thanks in advance for any advice you Warriors can provide!

Like to the Article Index page rather than the individual articles, and link to that Index page on every page of your site.

You want people to be able to find your articles, because that increases their time on your site, and allows you to build a relationship with your reader, one that could lead to more sales for you.

Give people the opportunity to find your articles.

If you build your site for your visitors first and foremost, that is usually all that is desired by Google for you to do. They want you to build content for your visitors, not for them. And if you do so, you will find that Google may like your site better for having done so.

My primary strategy is to build my marketing campaigns as if Google did not exist, and then be happy to receive anything Google wants to send my way. The strategy actually works out well, and Google sends me a lot of traffic.

        TPW,

Thanks very much for the prompt reply and sage advice. That's exactly what I'm going to do. I've already started building an index page of my articles, organized by topic and I'll place a link to that page on every page of my site. I'm really trying to improve the user experience for my potential clients, and if big G likes it, so much the better!

        Thanks again!

Depending on your site design and structure, and the relative importance of the articles, I'd be tempted to link to all (or a rotating selection) of them from the home page. You'll give visitors the best opportunity of noticing them (rather than a link called 'Articles').

If you are adding them to geta lift in the SERPs then they'll be indexed quicker if they are a click closer to the homepage too.
