A question about hosting

I know that signing up for a domain can give you unlimited domain to host on that account. So if I got three websites, then I need to pay for three different hosting accounts, and assuming it's $4 per month, that will be $12 per month. I was wondering if there is a hosting where I can host an unlimited number of websites on the same account without paying extra...except for the domain.

HostGator is a hosting company that will allow you to host as many Domain Names as you want.

If you plan on eventually running a number of accounts I would at least recommend going with HostGator's Business Plans with unlimited domains, dedicated SSL and IP.

A better solution is to move up to the Reseller Hosting Plan right away. This gives your domains individual CPanel accounts. The benefit comes if and when you ever want to flip any of these sites, it makes the transfer so much easier.

Dreamhost also has unlimited domains and databases. I've been with them for 4 years now and they have yet to fail me :O)

You can save $80 on a year of hosting by using:

    ONLY4WARRIORS <- Promo code

You get a full year of hosting for 39 bucks...pretty good deal!!

A lot of web hosting companies allow unlimited domain for a hosting account. But it will be a hassle if I want to make 10 websites and have to pay $6 for each account and $9 for each domain. So I am guessing a reseller account at hostgator will allow me to pay $24 a month so that I only have to pay for domain each time I want to make a website with a separate hosting?

You are correct. Again, each account will have its own seperate CPanel Admin area. You will have additional control for creating each account in your WHM. They will share an IP address with each other, but you have the option of purchasing an additional IP address for each of them if you so choose.

I've worked with dozens of hosting companies and the average cost per IP address is around $2.

Josh is right, the most you should look to pay is 2.00. One of the disadvantages with a shared IP is that if one site gets blocked the rest do as well. If you have a site that may run the risk of this it's a good idea to have that one on a seperate IP address.

Not to be confusing, but there are many hundreds of good web hosts. The biggest is not necessarily the best, specially if they oversell their shared services. Go over to Web Hosting Talk and read the reviews and offers there. You'll get an honest, straight up answer from many of the members.

I can tell you what to NOT go for (at least now). Bluehost. Their quality seemed to drop dramatically low in couple few months... It's not what it used to be...

Bluehost lets you do this too. Unlimited domain hosting, and also unlimited email accounts per domain. All for only $6.95 a month.

I've been using Hostgator and Bluehost both. I haven't had problems with either of them at all.

I've been using bluehost for several years now with no problems. Several of my clients use it also and have not reported any trouble. I would not recommend GoDaddy unless you do not mind being nickled and dimed for every little feature.

I think I will stick with hostgator for now, I don't like to be billed 1 year in advance and I don't like that long of a commitment. Maybe later when I am more experienced as a marketer, I might try out bluehost.

I'd recommend staying away from anything that says unlimited bandwidth or unlimited disk space. The truth is nothing is unlimited. If you use to much resources, they'll kick you off. Unlimited is prone to attracting abusive clients.

Jake, pretty much every hosting company will say this, except if you go for reseller hosting or a dedicated server, but this may be a little beyond what the OP currently needs.

If you order hosting package with unlimited addon domain then you can have all your site in one hosting package, no need to order new package. Most hosting today will offer you this features like Hostgator, Dreamhost, etc.You can add your other domain as an addon domain which you can find it at your cPanel Hosting.

The issue I seem to get when trying to add more domains is that the other domain goes offline, and the new added domain goes online instead, and thus keeps happening with all my domains, for e.g. if I have 5 domains, only 1 out the 5 will be online etc...

Dont know how to work around these hosting providers, I am with hostgator currently, and have got unlimited domains as part of the package I initially ordered, so I dont see why I cant put more domains online through my host.

Hostgator is the best web hosting companies out there. The best part about it is that Hostgator offers unlimited web hosting with a 25% OFF discount.
