Do any of you expect to become millionaires from IM?

Can you see your business expanding and doing 7 figures year? I know not everyone even cares about becoming a millionaire but you have to admit that its truly an amount that's synonymous with success.

OK, it may seem like a fantasy-land type of question but how many of you envision and strive to become wealthy from IM? If so, how far are you from making it a reality?

Well ok that's not true. It'd probably be easier for me to make millions outside of IM.

You don't necessarily have to want to make millions in IM. I suppose my main reason for getting involved in IM is the freedom of location it offers - being able to work from anywhere there is an internet connection.

The idea of a passive income even before I have started to outsource is quite cool too. I can take the day off tomorrow and my earnings will be the same.

I do intend to make tons of money though.

Absolutely. It's on its way, just need to keep scaling and expanding.

The best advice I ever read was so simple, yet so hard to stick to:

1. Try a variety of methods until you find one that feels "right" to you, meaning you enjoy doing it (writing, niche site building, authority blog creation, etc).

2. Focus on reading everything possible about that method and apply what you learn to your start-up.

3. Do NOT be distracted by other methods, shiny objects that call to you like beautiful sirens from the rocks, or get-rich-quick products. Just continue pursuing your method.

4. Once that method makes a single dollar, delve down into the stats and figure out where that dollar came from, why it came at all, and determine what you'll need to do to make more dollars from that same source arrive in your wallet.

5. Scale upward using outsourcing, automation, and virtual assisstants.

That's really about it. If you can do that, there's no reason to believe you can't have a list with 200,000 people actively enjoying your emails, or reading your authority blog, or using your copywriting service, or whatever other method you stayed with.

Pick a method, become an expert in that method, and keep moving forward always. Never give up, never quit, and keep at it until you make it.

PERSISTENCE is the only word that matters in IM, eventually you can make it if you keep learning, keep applying what you've learned, and watch it all happening through stat tracking.

I agree completely with the persistence part. This along with focus is essential to anyone looking to make a living with IM or any business for that matter.

I gave up my hope to become millionair with anything a long time ago, most markets are saturnated so you have to really come with something unique.

But hack, who needs to be millionaire if you can achieve a passive income of $5k a month with IM, (not that I make that but I think it's doable)

Ps I made my first 5-6 euro this month with Adsense, you have no clue how happy I am! Why happy? Cause this is for me proof of concept that I can expand unlimited.

Seoman,

I think your mindset needs a bit of a tune up. Most markets are NOT saturated since saturation means there's no more room for someone else. Markets such as weight loss, dating, health, fitness, etc. create new millionaires each and every day. The amount of new six figure earners is quite staggering - even during this tough economy.

Here's something else to think about: there were roughly over one million new millionaires created in 2010, that's about 2,740 new millionaires each day. Granted many of them acheived that through their stock holdings, but many of them also acheived it through entrepreneurship.

But you're right about one thing, most people don't need to become millionaires to acheive the lifestyle they want. It's more important to have the cashflow of a millionaire then to actually be one.

You've made some money with Adsense, that means you're onto to something. There are plenty of people still making money with Adsense (and other programs like them). Offer quality content on your own network of blogs and websites, build a list and point your readership back to your web pages that you own that have adsense on it, and you'll be amazed at your income in 6-12 months.

Read a book called MASTERY and follow it's principles, it will give you the foundation needed to mastery any aspect of business (and life).

One of the aspects I love about IM is the unlimited potential. I love the idea that you can leverage your effort over time and earn residual income.

However, getting to that point requires a ton of work. I completely agree with the post above about trying a few approaches to discover what you like doing and get some results.

Once you find a method you like and that gets results, the sky is the limit. Just keep plugging away.

I'm into building larger sites because I like planning and building it. I get more ideas than I have time to implement.

However, I acknowledge there are many ways to earn a great living, and yes, become a millionaire online.

Why not set a sensible goal?
That's definitely right. Making a million dollars and more online is clearly achievable. However, too many newbies are dreaming about the million even before they make their first $... That's not the way to go.

Set sensible goals, and move up slowly. That said, I would imagine that the journey from 0 to $50,000 is longer and tougher than the one taking you from $50,000 to $1,000,000. I haven't made a million yet though, so I'm only guessing (but I'm passed 50K!)...

The plan - Start to make money online re-invest, get more money then re-invest some and hold onto some and invest in an offline venture

To recap YES i do expect to become a millionaire via IM but not totally through IM!

My goal is to become a millionaire. Sorta already promised my wife I would be one by now - Im just running a bit behind schedule.

I have a full time job right now, plus a side consultant business and they make a combined $120k/yr. I don't think ill ever stop working those jobs, unless I'm making double that with IM and it requires my full time attention.

That being said, I know 1 million is an attainable goal from IM. I have sold one of my websites in the past for $5,500, and I have seen how much others have sold for. So, maybe this is indirectly making money from IM by using it to build website value, then selling the websites. However, I still consider it to be from IM.

I think there's those who dream and continue dreaming, who would end up the same position as they were, and those who dream big and compliment it with massive action, who would eventually go places. I think a 6 figure income is very possible (I have 2 real life examples in front of me right now), but I guess most people (hopefully not me) fail because they give up too soon, or are too inflexible to the changing nature of internet marketing.

Just my 2 cents

Caleb it is important to dream, you must visualize / dream anything before it can happen, to just do with out vision or a dream is to wander without direction through the desert sands of time.

Some people how ever have dreams without action, that amount to no more than a Walt Disney fantasy movie, other have dreams and then turn those dreams and visions into reality.

you must see in you minds eye (dream it / visualize it) before it can ever be created, and most people who become rich see the picture or the wealth before it happens, after the visualization the rest is just the manual process you must implement to add the required actions to see the end result of those dreams.

I think that is a very reasonable goal. I have set many goal posts and also passed many of them. It makes no difference of course, as you will always make new ones.

The trick is to always look for ways of expanding what you are doing, or using the profits from what you are doing to fund plans that have the potential to expand and grow. When those plans start to expand and grow, as they will sometimes, put people in charge of that growth and move on to start new things.

I originally set up plans that could be implemented with no money, but always planned for what I would do when I had enough to start the next plan, and so on, and so forth.

My plans extend to all the way up to emperor of earth, and if I don't achieve my goals, I'll be darn sure to have fun trying.

Cheers,

I certainly do, but it's a "flip of the switch" thing.

One day, I will be trundling along doing a comfortable but by no means huge income from IM.

The next, I will have a seven-figure bank balance.

That's not the way it works for everyone; a lot of people have a slow and steady increase in their income. I don't. The way I run my business, things happen FAST and they happen BIG.

If you look at the various gurus, this is the same pattern their businesses tend to follow. One day, they had a few thousand dollars; the next, they had a few million. And, as Frank Kern says, they don't get to keep ALL of it... but they get to keep some of it.

So there's no way to say how close I am. Right now, it might be years. On the other hand, it could happen next month. There's just no way to be sure. That's just the nature of this business.

This is a great perspective to have, Jarrett. Whether you tell yourself you can or can't do something, you're probably right.

As many of us already know (I believe it was T. Harv Eker who made this theory popular), the company we keep basically determines our income level. Our net worth can often be predicted by looking at the finances of the 5 closest people in our lives, so pay attention to who you tend to have around you most in your business and also personal lives. When we see people close to us making a certain amount of money, then it becomes normal and believable to us.

Obviously, you won't get anywhere if all you have around you are dreamers who only dream of making 7 figures.

There's no one size fits all answer.

People define "financial independence" differently. To one person it may be debt free & $100K in the bank, to another it could be $2 Million put away. For my wife's grandparents it was debt free, home paid off & $3,000/mo. net coming in each month from their investments. They were financially independent at that level.

Imo, no one can really say what's best for someone to pursue. It's really a personal thing.

I'm more interested in financial freedom and passive streams of income. This doesn't necessarily mean being rich - just well off.

However, I love working, and I'm not looking for an early retirement at all. I have plans to explore other things that have great profit potential.

By the way, a guy on the same affiliate network as me is making over half a million dollars per year. That's just from affiliate marketing alone.

It is definitely possible to be a millionaire with Internet marketing, but you truly have to grow with your business.

As I'm not very advanced, I don't think in millions yet. I do know I can expand my sites and live from it well though, and I'm working hard on it. Once I get enough income to be fully independent, I might take riskier steps that aim to millions.

Why aim for something so unattainable?

I'm sorry to burst bubbles here, and I know most will shoot me down, but when IM is renowned for being such a difficult process to even make a single dollar out of, those who dream of earning a million will inevitably fail. Why not set a sensible goal?

Maybe when you reach your first $500,000 you can comfortably think about your first million...

Not all IM earn 7 digits numbers. Unless you manage them well and know the inside and outs about internet marketing.
{{ DiscussionBoard.errors[3906392].message }}
• As someone who's already made it, here's my advice: your first goal should not be to make your first million. Your first goal should be to generate a reasonably comfortable and stable monthly income ($2,000/month? $5,000/month? that's up to you to define "comfortable") so you can quit your day job and go full time.

Once you go full time, you can start dreaming bigger... But at any rate that should be your goal.

Sure, you can make not even a million but millions through internet marketing, all you need is persistence, to pull off such would take you too long and it becomes quite easy to give up along the way. It would be more advisable to Diversify.

It's so amazing when I was reaching 1 million € and always, I always feel I can do anything that almost everybody can't dare to dream about.

Everybody including my parents said that I'm fool, I remember when they said to me "Don't dream like that because the real life shocked you and you will be so miserable" and all of the pessimistic and destroyed advices.

I did listen to them but I always believe in myself that I am able to achieve and believe deeply that Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don't quit.

Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.

You may delay, but time will not.

The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.

There is only one success: to be able to spend your life in your own way, and not to give others absurd maddening claims upon it.

And whatever you do, DON'T become one of these types of pessimists.

They ALWAYS think that their failures are the result of other people faults.

They never seen the pattern of their own self-destructive behavior as they incorrectly assume that the reason things didn't work out for them must have been due to someone else.

What separates the winners from the losers is how a person reacts to each new twist of fate.

I'm planning now for 8 figures/year and why not 9 figures a year waaaaaw!!......

Good Luck all of you

this is an inspirational kind of thread huh?

I think we are all here because we want success. this usually means lots of sites and lots of automation for most people.

what I am really looking for is enough money to have freedom and a good retirement. I am in here hoping that some of the real millionaires choose to give up the one or two tips that make a real difference to my strategy.

Thats what I want.

Yes nothing is impossible. Gotta keep changing my perspective. People 300 years ago my age were in the army marching all day, fighting battles, risking their lives, having friends die, getting swords pierced through them. What am I doing? Come on, if I worked half as half, risked half as much as the average young man 300 years ago, I'd easily be a millionaire. Today's society is soft.

OK, it may seem like a fantasy-land type of question but how many of you envision and strive to become wealthy from IM? If so, how far are you from making it a reality?
Making a decent living out of IM is my goal. Once I have reached that I will be happy to enjoy my hard work with my nearest and dearest

Living without money makes me realize how much I really don't care about being a millionaire. I care about being able to drive without worrying that my car is going to break down. I care about being able to go to the movies a few times without worrying if I'm going to have enough for gas. I worry about having the money to buy enough fruits and vegetables for my kid.

I don't need a million dollars to do that and I have no interest in a million dollars.

Do I think it's possible? Of course, everything is possible.

Yes you can become a millionaire from IM!

I've done it once (2008 .. divorced .. lost half) and Im working on a second go around!

IMO, you have to have the following skill set:

1. Lots of real world business experience.
2. Sales and Marketing experience
3. Advanced Server Side Web Programming (must be almost an expert on PHP or ASP, etc)
4. Client side technologies (HTML, javascript, etc)
5. Database programming (Mysql, sql server)

Drop 2 through 5 and I would agree with you.

The only thing you need is business sense - the ability to plan, understand how to utilize and leverage resources, and get the money to do so (through earning it yourself, leveraging loans, angel's, investors, etc.).

The rest (2 through 5) can be handed off to people who have those skills.

Yes, I do see myself making 7 figure from IM. If not, I wouldn't be here wasting my time. I've been doing Internet marketing for quite some time now and I see the potential. The only key to this is: Perseverance. Never expect to make money instantly because Internet marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Some people just misunderstood the concept.

But one thing you need to remember is to keep your mind open and willing to learn something new because IM is a fast moving business and you need to be able to keep up.

For my own IM endeavors, I was just hoping to quit my day job and then use the money I got from IM to start a nonprofit or charity organization for under privileged people. That's always been my dream, but I definitely haven't thought about becoming a millionaire from just IM, however it is definitely an intriguing thought.

You know if you look in the wso section and look at all the offers claiming they can make you 100k in a year and how many say they can easily be outsourced...

You only need to pick one, make some cash then pick up 9 more systems that you can outsource and Walaa !

IM is really where it's at right now. My father has been working very hard with the IM business and in 13 months, he has already built a 7 figure business. I'm almost 22 years old and have been in IM for about 4 months and i'm on the same path. If you have the right tools, mentors, and techniques you can literally become free of any financial problems within a year. Well, then again it really all depends on YOU and how badly you want it. If you do NOTHING, you get NOTHING. That's just how life works but honestly, anyone can benefit from the IM business with the right tools and the right attitude.
