Timeframe for income growth from $10k to $100k to $250k to $1MM?

I just saw another thread about making millions in IM, which prompted this question of mine.

What's your timeframe, preferably based on experience/history, for reaching specific annual income milestones?

For instance, from the point you reached the $100K/yr range (which is where I'm at now), how long did it take for you to hit $250K/yr? And for $500K/yr? And even $1MM/yr?

How did you overcome any plateaus?
How much did you have to diversify your revenue streams?
Did the 80/20 rule always apply?

Thanks.

  • Hi Dave,

If you've done it all by yourself, 100k is pretty good.

To go above and beyond that, you generally want to create a scalable system, and you tend to get partners (i.e., jvs) or advertising to expand your business. You constantly evaluate & refine it, and then do tweaking and testing to expand it from there.

Yes a scalable system is good. Once you get the "formula" and know what you are doing right to make that 100k. Then all you got to do is duplicate it again and again till you reach your 250k point. Then you make more modifications and duplicate again and again.

    Great advice.

I'm wondering, though, about time frame of reaching the next threshold based on other people's experiences?
