Amazon, affiliate link for customer review pages?

I want to link to amazon customer reviews, from my site.

When I use my affiliate link, I can see my affiliate id in the url. When I click into the review, it's gone.

Is this the url I use? Or how do I get my affiliate link for the review page?

Cheers.

Humph, now I'd like to know the answer too, as it looks like the associate id gets stripped out by the time you land on the review page. I know there are some Amazon geniuses around here, what's the scoop?

Are you using the Associate Site Stripe tool to create the link to the customer reviews page in Amazon? The URL is longer than the URL to a product page and includes a redirect. When I follow the link I do see that the associate ID is stripped out but when I check the link with the Amazon link checker in the affiliate dashboard it says it's fine.

Unless someone comes up with a definitive answer, I'd test the links with a unique tracking ID to see if they're working (which I think I will try to do on my sites, too, now!)

As long as you use your Amazon Associates Affiliate ID is in your links, you will be fine. It's normal for your link to show up abbreviated in the address bar after you click on it but you will still get credit for any activity.

My advice is to run that link through the Amazon link checker to be 100% sure you'll get the credit.

I've just noticed this problem too. Does wordpress maybe have a maximum link length? The Amazon affiliate review link saves ok in the wordpress link insert link box but is cut off by the time it reaches the browser and my affiliate ID is lost. I put the resulting url displayed in the browser into Amazon link checker and it turns out not to be a valid link, so be warned. Anyway around this? I'm reluctant to use a link cloaker as Amazon won't tolerate any redirects...

I just tried this and noticed that my id was stripped too. I checked the url with amazon linkchecker and it says that it`s not correct. It`s weird because when I enter the link throughwordpress it`s complete, however when you click on it, the id is stripped. This is only for linking to the review page

o well, i guess i have to just do with linking to the product page.

The link has a redirect in so your ID is stripped out because they don't need it to track the sale. You need to check the link you are given by the site stripe to ensure it is valid not the resulting link post the redirect, Amazon has already taken what it needs and just reverts the URL back to the standard one.

I just started another thread on this.. but anyway, both review links are being stripped... the redirect, and the full link.

The links to the product pages are working ok, just the review pages.

    Hello,

It's actually very simple and length of link doesn't matter. Amazon my strip the visible affiliate ID, but you will get credit.

Just get your affiliate ID like you normally would by clicking on "text link" for the product/page you want. hover over the link itself (amazon shows you a preview) and another preview will show up with the "review stars" at the bottom. hover over this and right click the stars and simply click "save link location". Boom. That's it.
