Why does Ezine take so long to review now?

Like two weeks ago, my articles would be reviewed in less than 5 days.

But now since google slapped ezine. my articles are still under review after 10 days. and i cant submit anymore articles because i am on basic plus.

They've had "a bit of a week" because of Google's new policies. Probably one of the worst weeks in recent memory, for them. They're in the process of removing a lot of stuff from the database, too, I think. They'll probably get back up to speed again shortly.

Being on "basic plus" draws you the short end of the stick, I'm afraid, because those are the articles with which they take most care and to which they pay most attention. So in times of trouble, you probably get the worst of the delays, too.

I agree with this completely. They're adapting because of the moves G made.

They'll be back on track in due time. I believe, however, that the quality of articles is actually going to matter now. They'll have some way by which they determine value in the articles you post.

My new strategy is posting 1 or 2 super long, high quality articles each week within which are some golden nuggets I would traditionally save for a product or something.

We'll see how it all plays out!!

      Great replies, good thread.

Isn't removing articles will do more damage? Since that prove your content is bad, and if they do not do it carefully, google will find url 404 and punish them more.

Yeh. The new changes has affect my ezine account and only ezine. I havnt been in the game long n from what iv heard many IM are worried, I personally find it worrying that nobody didn't see this change coming..
Google intellegents is growing massively that being said it is worth 25million or is it billion. It controls the markets. But anyways I'm getting of the point.
This is a time when the stronger will grow and the weak will fall. From what I have read there is going to be more changes to the system. On the flip side of it I'm sure the ones that are following the system will sucessed.

EZA has a bunch of new quality requirements one of which is an end to basic plus. Also they said more real person article reviews will be done and approval will take longer.

They now are allowing their reviewers twice the amount of time to review articles. They have also, as other people stated, gotten much stricter to what they are accepting. Reason being that Google hit their site kind of hard with the "content farm" site stuff.

Well I took the time to rewrite all my article and rewrite them with more than 400 words and did use quality. I hope my work pays off.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I would recommend that it's now time to get off "Basic Plus", as those authors are (and will continue to be) in a world of hurt.

Much more scrutiny under review, much longer processing times, and a much higher rejection rate. None of that is going to change.

If I were an article marketer just starting out, I'd make sure my initial articles hit Platinum on the first attempt, even if I had to pay extremely high rates to buy perfection. Otherwise it might not be worth the trouble.

If you're already established but having problems due to the new review standards, I'd follow what Chris mentioned in a post recently:

If English is not your native language, you NEED to get someone to edit and review your articles BEFORE submission.

That will help immeasurably in terms of approvals and your chances of making Platinum.

Best of luck, just try to hang in there and you'll get it. Apparantly they're going to be putting more effort into helping Basic Plus Authors step their game up, so you should get more clear reasons as to why you're still stuck.

I must say with google new official change. Sites like ezine are going to make big changes. It's happened already with one of my articles.

It's definitely a whole new world.

But as many of the top authors here keep preaching, I'm very enthusiastic about the increased quality standards.

It allows solid writers with an expertise in the craft to achieve better results, reach more people, and provide better information to their potential clients...which leads to higher conversions.

I wish they had gone even further (added NOFOLLOW, 500 minimum words, etc).

I like that quote...lool Dangerous person. Having said that I get good results from Associated Content. The only thing is they take ages to accept, longer than ezine. others may have a different exerince. But for me well worth the wait..

Don't get me wrong I use ezine but they are just a massive spam directory, google mean business this year.

Waiting to see if your articles are accepted is like going on a diet and continually stepping on the scales to see how much you've lost. Just get on with it. Once the weight starts falling off you stop thinking about it lb by lb. Once your articles are getting accepted you'll stop thinking about it article by article.

And, THIS is the downside to a viable quality control process. If people have to wait more than a day or a few hours, they naturally get 'antsy', start threads like this, and/or move on to something else.

And, THIS is why it has been neglected for so long.

When people go elsewhere, the platform itself looses a writer, that can produce content, that can be monetized.

Makes sense why ALOT of websites just ignored it, right?

        Hi Guys and Gals,

To go back to the original question posed on this thread: the best course is to write to a level of quality that will achieve Platinum Author status. Then you'll get your articles reviewed and posted in 48 hours. Sometimes it's even faster - but never more that 48 hours.

It's interesting that they have gone back to - more or less - the situation that existed in days of yore. Then, your first ten articles were always intended to be of sufficient quality to warrant being awarded Platinum status.

And regarding the new 400 minimum length: the received wisdom from Ezine Articles used to be that if you write a long article, you should split it in two and submit two short ones, instead. So that's a definite change for the better.

That's because - from an author's point of view - it has always been better to write a longer article, because - when you get to 500 words and upwards - your chances of getting it on the first page of Google are much increased. And that's where you really want to be to get real traffic for your article.

There are other aspects to that, but article length is a major factor.

        Warmest regards,

        Paul

surely although its a pain waiting for review and tighter quality controls -it must make those that get though articlewise more worthwhile and valued, certainly by the search engines this has to be good longer term ?

Certainly - in the long run it further strengthens the extent to which EZA is established in the minds of webmasters as "the article directory whose database is worth scouring for content (i.e. using it as a directory)". For many of us, in that sense, the stricter they are, the better.

That's much less universally an "advantage", though I'm sure EZA themselves see it that way.

Some article marketers (who want Google-derived traffic visiting our own sites, rather than EZA's site where we lose perhaps 50% of the available traffic to AdSense and other distractions) prefer the EZA copies of our work not to rank too highly in search engines, and certainly not to outrank our own sites for our own keywords, but want our own sites to rank as highly as possible.

Others, who are actually doing "article directory marketing" rather than "article marketing", like their EZA copies to rank highly, and are probably cursing Google's recent algorithm changes.

Depending on the niche and what my campaign plan is I like both methods.

Incidently, if a waiting game is taking place your best course of action is to continue to create high quality content for your website and other sites such as EZA.

Don't let their internal problems or delayed review process kill your momentum and slow you down. Just take a look at some of the 337,000 plus authors over at EZA and see how many have merely a handul of articles credited back to them.

Those authors gave up to early in frustration and should have continued to create more articles.

        Respectfully,
        Tim

Yeah Ezine takes many days to review the articles because of some reasons. As they want quality materials and want it to be increased and they are focusing to increase the level of quality....I was also facing some problems as my articles were being checked very late and thus were uploaded late...
